I NF-So, I''ll confess I
30.gif
all of your rings. I think we have really similar taste. Your Jeff White sapphire way back when is what made me certain I wanted a sapphire ering:-)

I am starting to plan my next project (which will porbably take a year or so to pull off:-) and am debating between an E-W bezeled chunky cushion (prob. AVC) and a trellis 5-stone of OECs. I was trying to think where I could see a comparision, and then I realized your rings are pretty close to what I''d be looking for
36.gif

I know you have your hand full with your little munchkins, but when you get a chance, would it be posisble for you to post hand shots of your bezel ring, five stone, and the two of them together (I know they won''t really match proportion wise, but I live in NYC and sometimes I want major bling, so I''m trying to find a RHR that would be paired with something else down the line if I want serious sparkles for an event or something).

Thanks sooooo much in advance for your help, and take your time as I know you are super busy and it''s not like I have fun money falling off of trees so this will be a project that''s a while in the making

bump so it doesn''t get lost...

Have you thought about paging her on the 12-36 month olds page?

that''s my next step

Hi Bella,

Thank you so much for the compliments, that is very sweet of you! I am so sorry I didn''t see this sooner, someone just alerted me it was here. I''ve got a lot of things going on lately so I don''t make it out of FHH too often.

So my 5 stone actually really can''t be worn with my e-ring because the 5 stone would tuck under the engagement ring and the diamonds might scratch or hurt each other. So I don''t ever wear them together and wouldn''t recommend it.

If you did something different with the underbelly of the engagement ring you might be able to do it.

FWIW I think they would look pretty horrible together. They don''t match in style at all and the proportion of the 5 stone just overwhelms my cushion e-ring (which is only .81).

So that being said I am happy to take a few pictures of both rings (they''re going to be fast and ugly pictures though) together on the hand but I won''t put them totally together-I just don''t want to take any chances that the culet of my ering would scratch my OEC band.

As to what you should get if you want bling the 5 stone is the way to go. MUCH blingier.

thanks NF!!! quick and dirty pics are great. I totally understand about the two together, I imagined they''d probably look pretty bad together
3.gif
Thanks so much...I know that you have a lot going on!

Hi bella,

Here are a few pictures for you, I hope they help. Sorry for the quality-it''s pouring here today so no good light anywhere.

And another

And the last one. IRL the sparkles of the 5 stone way outweigh the sparkle of the other ring. Don't get me wrong-both are extremely sparkly. But there is just a lot more bling factor with the 5 stone.

Sorry for the horrible background-we are in the middle of a bathroom renovation and that's the room with the brightest light!

THANK YOU!!!!

NEatfreak I see you bear the wounds of home renos too!

I love your 5 stone, you never did a thread about it did you??

Bella I vote 5 stone for a project. I don''t know if you have tried one on, but the bling factor is awesome. I seriously covet one myself and will get one eventually, maybe fore our 5th anniversay
4.gif
First I want to get my 3-stone e-ring all sorted... I like the 3 stone for the same reason I like the 5-stone, all those facest really creats a great blingy look!

:-) I hear you both!

I LOVE my ering, love that DH designed it, and love that he got a sapphire three stone (which I wanted) but sometimes a girl wants something a little more sparkly for her RH:-) (DD I know you understand this:-)

I just ordered earrings from Whiteflash (which I am waiting for with bated breath!!! they should arrive at the end of this week/beginning of next week) .5 tcw bezeled ACAs F VS1 dangling from jump rings of off leverbacks. But, I want to start saving for a RHR, something sparkly for my RH but that won't overwhelm my ering on my LH. I am leaning towards the five stone, but want to be sure.

I
30.gif
the E-W bezel and
30.gif
the AV cushions but since DH isn't really buying my whole "I need multiple RH rings" plan I really need to pick one
3.gif
, at least for now
11.gif
he's also not buying my whole "if we get pregnant I'd like a baby ring" campaign either
2.gif

Here are the top candidates for my RHR there are many more, but I think these are the top (clearly, money is not the only reason this will take a while:-):

1. OEC five stone (still debating between all the same size, or graduated, and debating about trellis setting with shared prongs or 4-prong with pointy claw prongs
2. E-W bezeled AV cushion
3. bezeled eternity band alternating marquise and round (problem is I really only like chunky cut old fashioned marquise, what're the odds of finding matching ones of those of an e-ring on a budget
20.gif
Pretty muich zero I think
2.gif

I am going to go to the diamond district and Tiffany's in the next few weeks to try rings on, but the pics from NF really helped!!!

Bella - for major bling, the five stone would be perfect! What size stones are you thinking of getting?

I wear a 6.75 in the winter and like an 8.5 on certain summer days
23.gif
Typically though, my rings are sized as a 7 and that works year round
2.gif
only a little spinning in the winter and they still are comfy for 99% of the days in the summer. The other 1% I just grin and bear ot, or only wear my wband. My three stone e-ring only spins a little and my wband is inspired by the MichaelB petite crown lace so it doesn''t matter if it spins...

Long story short...

I think I''d get a 5 stone in a size 7, and would like between .25 and .3 stones. I am going to try some on next week to see if I like how those sizes look/ffel on my finger.

We have a pretty limited budget, so if I go in this direction I may start collecting OECs that I find that match what I like (as my birthday, anniversary, christmas presents...) and have the ring made in a year or two...

I can relate to the limited budget. It can be tough especially when you have to pick one or the other, not both! The idea of collecting stones for b-days, etc., sounds like a great idea!

thanks MC! Yeah, the earrings are my first "Real" jewelry purchase so I can''t really make another one just yet. DH and I are both looking for new jobs and if either of us get one our financial situation will change enough that I think I can fit in one more jewelry pruchase and he can get his TV (that''s our deal...:-) our current TV is a 13 inch TV/VCR combo from the late 80s/early 90s
2.gif
)

OECs are hard to match, but I am talking to some vendors to see what my options/budgets would be...

Yeah, you have to even out the toys between what the guys want and what we want! Best of luck in the job hunt.

Yes!

Bella, you are I have a lot of the same taste, too. I''m OBSESSED with five stone rings right now. OEC diamonds would be lovely.

Hello. Just popping in to say I''ve seen both rings many times and both are stunning. The OEC band is just a knock out, they are some of the brightest prettiest OEC''s I''ve seen and like little disco balls. When NF waves her hands my eyes follow the band. Her cushion is amazing too. Completely different personalities but equally lovely. I''m blanking on ctw right now on the band. Over a carat, not sure if it''s over 1.5 ctw, suspect it''s under. The stones are OECs so they are a little deeper than RBs and face up a teeny tiny bit smaller. Just super white light everywhere.

i think I''m about to start collecting OECs for this band. I
30.gif
the E-W bezel, but I think I''ll have to save that for an anniverdary down the road
31.gif
DH likes the 5 stone better for a RHR (but he things I''m crazy to want to spend any money on it
20.gif

)

So, I may get an LOGR ring in the next few months to tide me over and get some rose gold into my collection, and then start saving and collecting 5 matching OECs for this ring:-)

I''m going to swing by Tiff and the diamond district on Sunday to try on rings and make sure I like the look on me, and figure out if I prefer the stones all the same size, or slightly getting bigger as it gets towards the center...

Gypsy is right they are sparklers! To be fair I do that with her ring too! Her ering is a stunner.

I believe it's just over 1.5 ctw but faces up a bit smaller because they are OEC's. I don't know for sure because silly me forgot to ask BGD to weigh them while they were there being set.

beautiful collection. I love the antique cuts too.
