hi lori, i contacted gene today to see if he had anything similar in the works, he actually suggested i go with a pink tourmaline instead if i intend on wearing the ring more indoors, what do you think?

no suggestions on settings, but i''m sure your stone looks beautiful loose

Well, my picture taking is horrible at the moment as I''m very intimidated. As soon as I figure out how to make a little light box and use my new digi cam, then there will be loads of photos.

Have you seen Barry''s stones? He has some beauties, too, and I have quite a collection of his peachy pinks.

I''m fascinated by the changing colors of gemstones depending upon the lighting....I haven''t seen this stone under any lights but the ones in my house...it hasn''t even been outside in the sun yet.

FF, please let me know if you decide to purchase something...I''d love to see it!

My malaya actually turns a lovely rich gold color in fluro lights, I think it''s kind of neat

Although, I would ask her to tumble the ring for added strength as the beaded style is kind of delicate, and might not be great if you're rough on your rings. Mine wasn't tumbled because we weren't sure of the garnet, and the band actually broke. To be fair though, I wore it everyday and to the gym etc, lol. So I sent it back to her to reset with a twisted band instead, which she's fixing free of charge. I also have a sapphire ring coming from her. She's really a delight to work with.

Yes these garnets are very interesting, and yours sounds really lovely. Mine goes from a girlish pink outdoors to a grown up bronzy brown or a dark pink red indoors.
