Hi nicoleleigh,

Its very hard to call most fancy cuts by the numbers. However, I do see a couple red flags, The polish and symmetry are only very good and good, and the girdle varies from very thin to very think. This could be OK but it would need to be evaluated by an expert in person for durability issues. Plus you should definitely see it in person before you commit to see if you even like the way it performs. Anyone more familiar with the numbers feel free to chime in, but you should definitely see it in person and/or ask the vendor for more information at least.

I guess that is where the good symmetry comes in. Doesn't look too oval to me. It could just be the photo... See how the stone looks dark gray over large areas. From the photo those kinda look like large dead zones. You would have to see it in different lights to know for sure, and maybe use an ASET scope to double check.

The only problem I realy have is the identification to cut as "IDEAL".

Thank you for your response. Do you think that the stone would be sparkly and a good buy?

Also, what do you mean by dead zones?

When I refer to dead zones I mean areas of the diamond where light leaks through the bottom, but other types of fire and scintillation dead zones can occur too because of various factors. An oval cut diamond is pretty much just a stretched out round. Areas of darkness can result from this less than optimal shape. This darkness manifests itself in the shape of a bow-tie most often, especially in fancies of a longer width to length ratio. Your diamond there however seems to lack a noticeable bow tie, which might contribute to Diagem's enthusiasm along with the exquisite color and clarity. It will look big for its size that is for sure. And I am sure it is quite bright and sparkly (being a large colorless diamond and all). The more I look at the oval the more I like it. I guess you can't nitpick a good fancy cut to much. They are much more open to interpretation than rounds.

Sorry but I don''t really know much about diamonds. What does a bowtie mean and does this stone have one?

Also do you think this oval will have good finger coverage on a size 5 finger?
