Hi, I'm having a difficult time choosing an oval diamond to buy. I've posted in several other threads, but it was suggested to me that I should I just start a thread of my own. My budget for the diamond is about $13k. I'd prefer to get above 1.6ct and at least G color.
Although it's a bit smaller, I might end up purchasing this one: https://enchanteddiamonds.com/v/356569162 because its ASET seems decent. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! I talked to my girlfriend about the "opulent oval," and she said that normal ovals seem shiny enough to her, and that it's not worth the sacrifice in face size.

That's a good start, but let's see if we can find a slightly larger one maybe in G color. It's late here so I won't be able to look much tonight, but hopefully others will come and post!

This is a long shot since there's only one picture, but it may have potential. Cut looks pretty. It has a super cool feature that I have rarely seen...medium green fluorescense! Some of us love it and some avoid it. You generally only see it if UV light is shining on the diamond. I just wanted to post it because of it's rarity! I'll look more later!

Have you considered an Opulence Oval by August Vintage, Inc?

How about this one from whiteflash? It’s an “I” color but hear me out. It’s $14,500 with wire pricing (maybe they would we willing to go to 14,000?). It’s 2.2 carats with a GREAT spread, it’s graded as ideal cut by AGS which you never see for an oval, and the ASET looks about as good as you can get for an oval. And, it’s an “expert selection” which means that they have it in-house at whiteflash, they can send you tons more photos and videos of you would like, and it’s eligible for their awesome upgrade policy. You compromise slightly on color and make big gains on size and cut (therefore sparkle)

Thanks. Definitely something to consider. She says she's very picky about color unfortunately...and that one seems like the tint would be visible. I'd love to be able to get her one that big, but since it's already north of budget, I think I can't justify the risk that she was bothered by the tint.

@three staplers i have to admit i was considering that one too. the light performance seems outstanding but i also understand your hesitation with the color !

where are you located? have you been to a local jeweler to view some stones yet?

What about this one?

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.63-carat-f-color-vs1-clarity-sku-1090284 {report from 2014, I'd want that updated before you commit, clouds need to be reviewed but likely a nonissue on a VS1, 8.56*6.79*4.26}

Edited to add. PUT ON HOLD IF YOU LIKE and then ask for ASET. IF it passes the ASET, I would ask JA if they would send back to GIA for you (and be willing to pay for it for a few hundred dollars). If not, I would not discount this one, just be willing to send to GIA on your own or work with a PS recommended appraiser to confirm that there is no damaged to the stone ('flea bites' on the girdle or the like).

Thanks for the suggestions guys! That jamesallen one seems solid but not sure about its Strong blue flouresence. I understand that florescence can improve the way that the color in natural light -- but isn't strong blue associated with some potential issues?

I'm not loving any of those blue nile ones for some reason. Is it crazy to think that those G's look warm? And the "good" cut I don't think is a very good option
