Ok guys, I know how helpful everyone here at pricescope is and I am ready to buy, but want opinions on this Oval first please. I have done my homework and I have IS and ASET images included.

My search was as follows in order of importance to me, Cut, Clarity, Carat, and then Color. There aren''t that many 1ct ovals out there for sale that fall into the ideal specs of an oval and that have a great cut and this is one that was found by Whiteflash. I am new to this and understand an ASET image and what it tells me, but I''m no expert on reading it and seeing all the little things that some of you point out. If you need anymore information, please let me know and I''ll see what I can get...Thanks

Do you have a pic from far away instead of close up?

It''s got a bowtie, but I''m not sure how much of one, and if it would bother me. Aside from that, it looks lovely. Great specs, great spread, love the length to width ratio.

No, I do not have any other photos of the diamond, but I forgot to mention that whiteflash did say it has a bowtie, but it is minimal. The bowtie effect doesn''t bother me really as long as it is minimal and is not huge.

Any other Oval experts care to chime in on this one please...Thanks

Ditto this. The diamond look lovely, and if WF says the bowtie is not too noticable then I would trust them. They have a great return policy anyways, so you are "safe" buying from them.

I don''t know much about ovals but it seems like it has quite a bit of light leakage in strips flanking the "bow tie" area and the symmetry seems... kinda wonky - are all of the photos taken at an angle?

I think its worth shortlisting for purchase consideration, its a nice oval.

I kind of thought it was tilted maybe as well or symmetry was off because in the ASET you can see two white spots just outside of the bow tie area on the lower half of the stone...I can''t find enough pictures of oval ASET images to compare what is good and what it not.

Lorelei, for my education, what makes you say this is a good stone.

I guess I''m just kinda obsessing over this because I have been to several local B&M stores and seen their examples of ovals. At one store they had a nice oval that had great shine and fire and was a beautiful stone, while at another store their oval looked like a piece of cut glass and was completely dull. I know WF has a great return policy and I''m not really worried because if I don''t like it then I''ll just return it, but I was hoping to avoid all the shipping charges and return hassle if I can.

Here is a oval on GOG that you can compare with...I cant say that its a good one either but it looks lovely from
the pictures. Yours looks like it shows less light loss (IMO) and I think it is a lovely stone. With fancy cuts like
ovals, pears and marquise you just have to accept some light loss...how much I dont know.

Edit - you might already have seen this but its worth taking a look at if you havent
