Oval Evaluation - feedback required

Hi All,

I've been searching for oval diamonds over the last few months and there are four potentials that are in contention at this stage. I'm keen to get some feedback/opinions from experienced heads here, particularly around light performance and bow tie as I'm unable to physically see these diamonds in person. Much appreciated and thank you in advance!!

Also keen to get opinions on IF grading, I personally believe money is better spent on increasing the carat size rather than going to an IF clarity grade.

1. 1.54 carat, E / IF, EX polish, EX symmetry

2. 1.50ct D / IF EX polish, VG symmetry

3. 1.50ct D / VVS1, EX polish, EX symmetry

4. 1.70ct G / VS2 EX polish, EX symmetry

Number 3 looks the best out of the bunch to me...do you have links to the stones? Videos would
really help in evaluating them. Really need to see how the facets light up (or stay mushy) as the
stone turns or moves.

Which would be your preferred option, followed by a second best option?

Number 3 is actually a couple of thousand above my budget.

My budget is up to US$17k (incl. tax) and ideal specs would be oval 1.5ct to 1.8ct, D-F, eye clean (VVS1 to VS2) with excellent polish and excellent symmetry.

Hi All,

Is anyone able to provide feedback on the below stone, 1.5ct E / VS1 Ex Ex?

In the GIA certificate it mentions "clouds, pinpoints and surface graining not shown". Is there any concerns with this comment and whether the surface graining will impact on the transparency and cause the diamond to look hazy/cloudy?
