Oval Diamond - Needed in Canada for Christmas

Hello!

I am helping a buddy pick out an engagement ring for Christmas. He is in a pinch and needs to make a decision quick to get it shipped here for the holidays. I think our best bet to get a GIA graded stone in canadian funds would be bluenile. He wants to spend anywhere between 5-7000 Canadian for the ring. His setting is about 1100 leaving 5900 for the stone. We are looking for an Oval cut with no further requirements - really open at this point.

Those GOG ovals are really gorgeous...if you can swing the time. If not...
I looked at a lot on BN...I found a few that I thought were worth a look (remember to look at length X width and not carat weight).

I believe he gave his dollars ($5900) in CAD which is $4600 USD.
 
I think the key will be finding someone who has the diamond in-house or can get is fast -- and then get is set in time. So, for any that you pursue, first ask the vendor about timeline and add a week. Especially as we will want to see ASET for these.

Of those posted above I like the following from @tyty333 from BN. I would ask them about ASET and delivery dates:

From JA, I like the two posted above, and have the following to mention, BUT they have had trouble meeting delivery dates during peak periods. So, with your timeline, I have some hesitation recommending them unless they can give your verbal assurances AND can get a speedy ASET.

The first one has too much light leakage (too much white), so I'd go for the second one.

#2 looks like it has better aset and is a nice stone...

Just looked at it. Did you buy it or put it on hold?

Just FYI...this is how that H/VVS2 will look size wise on a size 6 finger

I had him buy the Norah Mae Mrs Box for the ring. The rose gold should match nicely! He will be putting it inside a Christmas ornament and popping the big question on Christmas morning!

Well, I'm not mad keen on either of those ASETs TBH, especially when compared to the Signature Ovals I linked to in my earlier post, but I appreciate that time is against you!

Did you contact Jonathon at AV to ask about the Signature Ovals and if they are available in the desired size/spec and for immediate delivery if so?
