Back to thinking about setting my oval diamond in a double halo. Here is the original locked thread from 2007! https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/double-halos-any-photos.58184/

This time around I'm thinking of this mounting from Stuller. I have an oval diamond for the center stone. I am hoping it won't be too blingy for everyday wear. Thoughts??

Well my stone isn't an exact size so fitting it into this bezel may be out. Prongs settings are much more forgiving so I will be looking at all of the Stuller oval prong settings now. Until the stone is taken out of it's current setting I won't know for sure if I have to do prongs.

My center stone varies slightly from standard size but my jeweler can fit it into a standard prong setting. This mounting is similar to the mounting in my OP and it's prong set. Stuller in 14 K white gold. It has a pave halo and milgrain. Any thoughts?

The only photo of a set mounting. Too bad it's a round.

If that rendition of the finished piece is any indication, it should be lovely. I like that the "frame" isn't exactly oval but has a few flourishes. Be sure that your jeweler uses a reasonable quality of melee stones so the halo really sparkles!

Thanks VRBeauty I too like the fact that the setting isn't a strict oval shape. I have my fingers crossed on the micropave. I get nervous about every part of resetting stones. Yet I keep doing it.
