Oval diamond advice needed!

We are trying to decide between these four diamonds. It will go between two 0.3 carat round diamonds from my family. They are not certified but a jeweler guessed they were G. I saw a GIA G oval between them in the store and the oval looked slightly dark/yellow to me compared to them. Because of this, and because I've read that IGI diamonds are sometimes a color off from GIA, we are looking at E/F ovals. I want to avoid too prominent of a bow tie or an F that has too much color. I know that I should be looking for a stone with good light return and minimal "mushy" areas but I am not able to see much of a difference between them. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated!

hi @ovaldiamondml

I've told admin that this post needs to be moved to the Lab Created Diamond forum but in the meantime, I tried to take a look at the stones.

So, the only one I could get to rotate is the first one. I couldnt get any of the others from Yadav to rotate which kind of leaves
me stuck as far as advice.

I’m sorry your post has been sitting for a bit. I also had trouble getting the videos to rotate; it’s hard to give much feedback on ovals without seeing how they perform.

The Yadav videos take an age to load! lol

1 - nice and 'crisp' and also looks very colourless. Faceting is reasonable for a 'classic' oval - central band is dominant (as usual) but not unattractive (to my personal taste, of course) when rotating. Windows (goes see-through) a bit when rotated, but most classic ovals do.

2 - Same as 1 except it has more visible tint, to my eyes (although different video setups having a different effect is noted ;) )

3 - Similar to 2 but I think there is a dark stripe of 'bow-tie' when head on.

4 - See 3

So... all fairly standard performance for classic ovals!

Check out the Distinctive Gem ovals that are cut for top-notch light performance, although I think they face up a bit smaller for a given weight and are a touch more expensive. :)
