Ouros vs Tianyu Cut

I'm trying to decide between buying a 3.5mm full eternity from Ouros and a 4.8mm 5 stone from Tianyu. Has anyone purchased from both vendors who can offer feedback on the quality of cut from each? Both items are priced around the same, and although both under $2k, it's still a big purchase for me so I want to be sure to get a ring that performs well.

I have a 3.5 on order from Ouros, trying to wait patiently.
I have not heard of the other, do you have a link?

I have a 3.5 mm 6 stone band from Ouros and for a very basic stock piece, I can’t complain. Diamonds are white, sparkly, and the gold weight feels appropriate.
I’ve had a few moissanite orders from Tianyu, so it’s been a while since my purchases but they good purchases however, you do need to carefully review CADs to ensure you get a sturdy piece.

Thanks for your replies. I've decided to go with Ouros, but I'm opting for a 4mm half eternity instead. I figure it's a nice half way point between the first two options. I have a few weeks to wait before I receive it, let the wait begin!

Please update with pictures and a review when you received your item! I’ve also been frequenting ouros’ store but wishing I could see them in person first (which is obviously not possible)

Can I ask if you posted pictures of your ring in another thread? I’m eyeing a 7stone 3.5mm from ouros but digging around to see if I can see photos apart from the ones on their page.

I may need to pose this question as a solo topic but also trying to figure out if the height of the ring will be compatible with my e-ring etc.

Love!!! Inching closer to committing to this. Sorry if I am hijacking this thread (OP please kindly let me know if I should move off your original topic).

How did you know the band wouldn’t hit your basket without trying it beforehand? (I also have a solitaire in a halo) and if you don’t mind…I’m looking at this similar 7stone (linked below), but to my untrained eye it seems like the band has a higher profile than yours? Do you see that as well?

Honestly, I tried to just pick a low profile band, and hoped for the best. I don’t wear them like picture often, instead I have spacer band to create a gap so they don’t rub.

Thanks for the reply! Will have to do some eye-balling + measuring and maybe asking some of the other pros on this forum for their expertise

Love this too! Can I confirm if this is the floating eternity band that’s on their site?

I had them make it from mixing 2.styles for me. This is the cad.SmartSelect_20211218-225554_Etsy.jpg

Wow, seriously great job on knowing what you wanted and asking to mix two styles! It does seem like your design is similar to the “floating” styles I saw if I’m not wrong. I read somewhere in this forum that the style may not work for “larger” stones, which I interpreted as even 3.5mm but your end product looks to prove me wrong?

Thanks for the CAD and pictures! Now getting ideas on if I can request his OECs to be in a prong style similar to yours… but my major hangup is that I can’t try on the design next to my e-ring to make sure it matches…decisions decisions.

I basically loved the french trellis basket style, but most have the prongs spread wide at the top. I wanted to see the roundness of the stones(my wedding ring is a chanel set). I asked them to pinch them in as much as possible.

Given that I am not a delicate person, this will likely result in a nightmare of chipped stones, but I will enjoy it while I can.

Would love an update at some point to know how your ring is holding up as I’m also not a “delicate” person

Just wanted to give an update on this post. Following some negative feedback on the forum regarding Ouros I decided not to go with them in the end. I reached out to Starsgem to get pricing on a 7 stone MMD band with 4mm DEF SI stones. Their price was slightly cheaper than Ouros and I knew their quality would be good as I had bought a two stone moissanite ring from them some time ago. Delivery to Australia from my first query was an amazing two weeks! Eva, the rep I dealt with, worked really hard to ensure dispatch before Lunar New Year, which I was very grateful for. 20220130_143004.jpg20220130_142949.jpg

Thanks so much for sharing, I’m also in Australia and on the hunt for a 5 stone lab diamond ring soon.
Your ring looks gorgeous! :kiss2::kiss2::kiss2:
What metal did you decide on and are you happy to share a ballpark figure?
Also, what’s the best way to contact Starsgem, on IG, WhatAp etc?
I hope you enjoy wearing your beautiful new ring!

I went with 14k yellow gold. I actually got a bunch of pricing from them for different variations before I decided on the 7 stone. For reference all prices are for 14k in a size 5.75:

7 stone 4mm DEF SI: USD730
7 stone 4mm DEF VS: USD800
7 stone 4mm lab sapphire: USD380
Full eternity u prong 3mm lab sapphire: USD345
Full eternity u prong 4mm DEF SI: USD1307
Full eternity u prong 3.2mm DEF VS: USD955
Full eternity u prong 3.2mm DEF SI: USD850

I contacted them via Alibaba. They have three stores on Alibaba, but I used this one: https://starsgems.en.alibaba.com/?spm=a2700.12243863.0.0.38403e5f9W85Hy

The process was message via the app/website and then an invoice was sent via PayPal once i had decided which variation to go with. I'm going to save for a full eternity now as the 7 stone is very comfortable between my fingers and Eva made sure the team set the stones as low as possible.

Wow! Thank you so much for your detailed reply.
I really appreciate it. I was also considering a full eternity but I was concerned about the comfort factor, so it’s great to know that you find it wearable :)

I've been waiting a while for my bracelet from Ouros. There have been delays with the UPS on their side due to covid.
