The cheap in me says, now we're talking, but I think cut quality is going to become more of a factor and the premium for that will be a stabilizer. But who knows? I can dig walking around in ropes and ropes of diamonds soon.

Late to the party, but.. I, too would be worried about cut. I’ve personally used Vijay for 3 custom settings now. The prices of his gold cannot be beat. And I’ve been happy with the settings thus far. However, they haven’t been intricate or detailed and I would hesitate using him for a project that required perfection simply because of the language barrier. This is not to denigrate him; he’s bilingual and I’m not. It’s just a fact.

And I would be worried about the cut of his stones if cut perfection, or close to it, was important to me. I personally don’t buy uncerted MMD. I agree that cut might become the prime delineator for MMD. I think it should be.
