So what are the top 5 things you cannot live without.
Excluding electronic devices.

I asked Greg and these are his top 5 things.

1. B&L Aviator sunglasses
2. Levi Jean Jacket in exact sizes 1980s
3. Red Wing workboots
4. Ryobi Cordless hot glue gun
5. OLFA utility knife

OOh I forgot my glasses lol. I cannot see a thing without them. Thanks for reminding me :)
As for cats and dogs yes of course. I was limiting my list to *things* not living beings but if we were to include living beings I have to add Greg and all 4 cats to my list. As well as my parents and sister and nieces and BIL so that is why I was keeping it to 5 *things*. But I respect your answers and support them fully. ❤️

Here’s my “under lockdown” / COVID-19 list:
1. Coffee-making equipment - currently, I am partial to Chemex pour overs using Blue Bottle beans.
2. Perfectly seasoned cast iron 10” skillet
3. Peloton Bike
4. Violin + Bow (although I was much better about practicing when I wasn’t on lockdown...)
5. Balmuda steam toaster oven + Japanese milk bread

Didn’t include my dog in the list since she’s not a “thing” but rather a pain in my butt. :)

I love your list. I can’t believe I forgot our coffee maker. Coffee makes life worth living. IMO:)

Reader glasses!
The lenses in my eyes must be petrified, because I have multiple pairs of varying strengths in every room, and also the car.
I can't see diddly squat without them. So sad.

I'm not going to say my husband, sons, birdy or plants bc they aren't things. Also not going to named furniture (bed, iPad, chair etc). Or my glasses...

Hand cream, hot tea in a good mug, snacks, my vintage Rolex, good walking shoes.

The only things I can think to put on this list that isn’t living (husband, pets, various other family members) are a car and my headache meds. Not necessarily the car I drive now, which is my husband’s truck since he got a company car and we sold my car, but really just any car. Public transit in my area is terrible and I’m not bicycling/ walking it, in the elements, on a poorly lit road with no sidewalks over half a mile to a bus stop. I also need my headache meds. I get frequent, severe headaches. Everything else is fair game. I’d be said without it but I’d move on pretty quickly.

So....my list depends. Does electronic devices mean anything that uses/requires electricity? Or just things like computer type items?

Things that could require electricity:
Glasses
Sewing machine
Quilting items (specifically hoop, thimble, needles, threads, fabric, batting)
Books
Tea making supplies

Zero electricity:
Glasses
Treadle sewing machine
Quilting items
Books
Cooking supplies

:D

You guys are so good. I’ve forgotten so many critical things. Glasses, meds (I’d die without my thyroid meds and probably a few others), books (but zero electricity kill me now lol), Vaseline and hand cream. Oy all necessary!

I’d never survive a true Apocalypse. Not that I want to but still...

From my travel list:

Reading Glasses
Comfortable shoes
Toiletries (toothbrush/paste/soap/floss)
All-purpose lotion
ID/Bank card

Of course, in current times, I'd have to add my masks and hand sanitizer to the list 8)

Fortunately, I books are covered by electronic devices as I use an ebook reader.

But I guess in the spirit of the original post - it would be kitchen basics: tongs, saucepan, skillet, chef's knife, cutting board...

Right now, my list of 5 things I'd rather not go without:

1. prescription eyeglasses
2. chapstick
3. flannel sheets
4. good coffee
5. lowfat Greek yogurt

So many.

Air, water, food, and warmth.
