Hello!

I am looking to purchase an engagement ring for my beautiful girlfriend. I am torn between two settings, and would love your input. Any and all comments welcome!

Oh I love the second one better, it looks more 'daintier' but still big if you know what I mean, looks 'finer' ..

That's a tough questions - because one has a halo and one doesn't. Can you return the ring? Even more important - have you done the research to ensure the prices and quality are reasonable?

Have you asked your gf or her bff or her sister/mom what type of settings she likes?

Wow. This is a tough one. These are two of my favorite settings. For me, it would depend on how big the center stone was, but then again it would still be a really tough decision because they are equally gorgeous.

Number One. Classic. Always a winner.

I love the smooth lines of the second one.

For a larger stone, I'd take the first setting. Smaller, I'd go with the second. I love them both though.

I really like the first one.

I prefer the first one! :appl:

Let me add to that...I prefer the first one if the center stone is bigger than 1.5 carats. If it is smaller than that, then I say go for the second one.

I like the second one. I think the side-stone (and wedding band) diamonds in the first setting are too large and overpower the center stone.

#2 hands down,...

The first setting is more classic but I would be concerned about the rubbing of the diamond girdles.

I prefer the first one but they are both beautiful.

Absolutely the first one!!! That's stunning and amazing finger coverage!!! If she's a diamond person, definitely go for the first one - bigger diamons shine more!!

yes i also agree with most of you guys.
#1 is for bigger size carat
#2 is for under 1.5 carat.

but either way you will come out with fabulous rings :)

number one.

You have narrowed down to 2 beautiful settings, thats for sure. Has she given you hints as to what appeals to her more - solitaire or halo? Visually, I went for #2 because it looked more clean lined to my eyes. However, I do also love the look of the first if you were going to be going for a larger centre stone, but not necessarily with that band.

(geesh, that whole comment wasn't really helpful at all was it?? lol!!) Ok, I'll commit to #2 as my choice!

This exactly. The first one might be classic, but the second one is far more elegant.

There have been good points made about the size of the band...maybe the first would be more attractive with smaller stones in both bands and if not both, then at least the WB?

#2, for sure! It's more timeless than the first choice, and the lines are much cleaner. Best of luck to you in the planning process. Let us know what you decide to go with :)

The first one and my DD agrees. (DD is not a fan of halos and neither am I)

numba 2

I think you should ask the wearer ;)) I am not a fan of either, maybe she would like a simple plain solitaire?

You've chosen two gorgeous settings! I'm with the camp that says you should ask her, or someone close to her that knows. Other than that, I think the first setting would be great with a large ct weight stone, and the second one for a stone smaller than 1.5ct. Cant wait to hear your choice. =)

Thank you for all of your feedback. I didn't like the wedding band on the first ring either. I have decided to go with the first choice, with smaller diamonds around the band, as most of you have suggested.

# 2!

But they are both very pretty.

ETA: I see you made your choice, congrats! It will look great on her.

great choice!! it will turn out very elegant and timeless piece.
Can't wait for the update picture of the actual ring in the near future. :D
