Ok, I did it. I bought a ring and it the stone currently getting set. I orginally had picked out something more contemporary but then I realized that was my preference, not hers. She likes more "antique" looking rings. I think the word the lady used was "estate" type jewelery. Anyway here is link to the ring. I think I did a good job because we were out the other day just looking around and she really liked some of the more contemporary pieces but she still liked the estate type but she loves the pave set diamonds.

It is the "H" LP1030. I am putting a .97 ct D VS2 in it.

I just wanted to get y'alls opinion on the square shank. I also need to call the jewelers again. Previously they told me that they were going to size it but then I got a message from them saying that because of the detail they were going to have it cast in the right size. My problem is if the ring needs to be resized later what hoops am I going to have to jump through. Anyway I'll find out tomorrow when I call them back but let me know what you all think of the ring and if you have any opinions on the square vs round shank.

I will post pictures as soon as I get it. 6-8 weeks! I don't know how I am going to make it! Thank God I am not proposing until Christmas. Orginally they told me 17 business days, that is until they decided to have it re-cast.

The ring you selected is very nice. The square shank in that ring tends to balance the scrolling wire on each side. The square shank tends to stop the ring from spinning with some people.
Not sure what size you needed, but the picture of the ring leads me to believe it can be sized somewhat either up or down. Your original ring may have had to go down or up too much which is why they probably decided to recast.

I am very familiar with the Simon G line. You made a nice choice.

Didn't mean to post it twice.

Thanks, I think the original ring was a size 6 and she wears a size 6 right hand so we went with a 5 1/2 for the left but the 6 is a little bit big for her right hand as it is so we think we might need to go to 5.25 but we will wait until after I put it on her finger for that
