Hi everyone,

I have been learning so much from Pricescope- so thank you! Now I need your help to ensure that I am buying a great diamond. (I am told that is great, but I need some help determining whether or not that is really the case...)

I am about to buy a diamond with the following specs. I will also attach the images that were provided to me by the vendor. (hopefully- if I can figure out how to do it...)

Here we go...

1.42ct, I color, VS2, H&A
Measurements: 7.24*7.26*4.46
Depth %: 61.5
Table %: 56
Crown angle: 34.5
Pavil angle: 41
Cutlet: very small
Girdle: thin-medium faceted (3.0%)
Cut grade: Excellent
Policy/Symm: Ex/Ex
Fluorescence: Faint

HCA Score: 1.8

It will be placed in a platinum setting. Here''s the link if you feel like giving your opinion on that, too. :) http://www.dimendscaasi.com/build/step1.asp?prodID=1A2BA

Thank you all so much in advance!

Look at your arrowheads at 5 and 11 oclock. They look misaligned with the shaft. I also see that the hearts don't look as symetrical as the could be.

The numbers and ASET image is good. H&A images are out of alignment, need a better image to judge the optical symm of the stone.

Hmm okay, thank you for your replies so far. If the symm is off, what does that translate to? How does it affect the overall performance of the stone? (I am still learning...)

If you''re paying any premiun for the H&A cut I''d pick another. I can see misaligned shafts in the ASET image too.

We are not paying a premium for the H&A. I always liked the "look" of H&A, but this is not a branded H&A. (Not sure what it is about H&A I like-- the brilliance I guess? In person, I was drawn to the the H&A.) Will the misalignment that you see here greatly affect that? To my untrained eyes, it appears that the answer to that question would be "no." The diamond is pretty much perfect for us in every other way (price, size, + other personal preferences) Thank you all again- your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Its not a h&a diamond as the patterning is off but it does appear to be a well cut stone, if you don't mind that the patterning is imperfect, the price is right and you like the diamond then thats a different matter.

Ok- makes sense. Thank you!
