Opinions please, am I crazy???

Hello guys, can you please take a look at this ring and tell me if the prongs holding the side stones are too large? To me they appear far too large and take away from the side stones. I'm curious to hear your opinions. This is on a custom ring I purchased, I love the ring except for the size of the prongs holding the side stones!! Would I be able to have the stones refitted with smaller, less visible prongs? Thanks!!

They aren't the worst I've seen, but I've also seen much daintier work. How long have you had the ring? Did you use a PS vendor or was a local bench?

I don't think they look too large - they look in proportion with the rest of the ring to me, at least going by that pic.

I've had the ring for 24 hours, it is a custom made ring from an online vendor. Is there anything that could be done? Could they be re set wit smaller prongs?

I don't think they're bad...can you get a better picture of it? The lighting in the first picture is pretty bad.

i really think they look fine, looks like a lovely ring but is this different than the cads or the design you discussed with the vendor?

It's actually exactly as the cad images suggested, but I had asked if the prongs would be smaller when it was manufactured and was told they would. To me the prongs detract from the side stones... The ring is absolutely fabulous, this is the only thing I don't like.

If you don't like it, see what can be done to change/correct it....Maybe they could be channel set? Maybe you'd like that better?
