I've been eyeing this $970 ring for a long time and finally got around to contacting the Etsy seller about it. She says she bought the ring in 1962 while in Europe and hasn't worn it since her husband gave her a ring with her dream gemstone soon after purchase. The ring has been stored in her safety deposit box for years and she says it is in excellent condition with the .583 hallmark along with other Soviet Union hallmarks. She had an appraisal done on it, as the diamond is uncertified (she says stone is eye-clean), but I still have concerns. Appraisal says diamond is .53 Round Brilliant (5.30 x 5.30 x 3.1mm) H SI-1I, with full ring appraised at $2,400. I know the pictures aren't the best; she has offered to Skype so that I could see the ring. I also found another ring of the same style, but with a smaller stone listed at $900 for comparison.
Worthy of further consideration or move on? Any questions I should ask?
