Hey Guys and Gals,

I plan on purchasing an E-Ring for my gf very soon. I went to all these sites and BN seems to be the best choice for me budget and diamond wise. I love James Allen''s stuff but they charge tax in NY

The setting is the
Three-Stone Trellis Diamond Ring Setting in 18k White Gold.

Total comes out to be around $5,200 which is perfect for my budget.

Do you guys and gals think this is a good pick? All opinions are welcome! Thanks!!

Welcome!

The center stone you picked looks good. It''s a bit deep, but not bad at all and scores a 0.8 on the ACA (you''re aiming for anything under 2.)

Have you gotten ideas on settings from your GF? Do you know that she likes/wants a three stone? They were very popular a few years ago, but it seems that people have strong feelings about them one way or another. My best friend won''t consider anything else, but they''re not really my style. I do love trellis settings though, so if I were going to get one that''s what I would pick!

Is the ability to upgrade in the future important to you? If it is, you may want to consider a vendor with an upgrade policy, like Whiteflash or GOG. Whiteflash has a pretty setting ($1195) similar to the one on BN, and you could consider diamonds like these:

Center stone
Side stone 1
Side stone 2

These are all A Cut Above stones, which are guaranteed to be some of the most beautiful, sparkly diamonds you''ve ever seen.

Just throwing out some other options to help confuse you.

thanks for confusing me!!! jk, seriously, i really appreciate your input. Yes, I showed her all the options for a setting and she definitely wants a 3 stone. I must say, i love how the 3 stones look. Future upgrades is not in our plan but i wouldn''t rule it out. But thanks for the options, i took a look at them and they all look really good number wise. This is going to be a tough choice, whether to go with BN or WF.

You might consider having WF custom-make a setting for you or modify the one above to your liking. Having recently gone through the purchasing process, I can tell you that the lifetime upgrade provides great peace of mind

yea, i am considering WF. would appreciate more 2nd opinions on the center diamond i picked out. thanks

The center stone is fine, and it is not deep at all at 61.3. The slightly thick to very thick girdle will keep it from being in the top cut category, but it looks good. I am sure your ring will be beautiful! (I personally would lean toward the WF stones, but I know someone else is looking at those same sidestones for earrings, so one of you better decide quickly and put them on hold!)

Oops! Nevermind about the WF sidestones. They have plenty of G and H VS2 stones in that size!

I purchased diamonds from Blue Nile for earrings, and was most pleased with the product and service. Blue Nile is less popular on this forum than some other vendors, because they do not offer idealscope images, etc. or a lifetime upgrade policy. On the other hand, the diamonds and the prices are excellent and they have a generous 30 day return policy. All depends on what is most important to you.

That''s should be a sweet ring, 3 AGSL0 cut stones. If the main stone were too deep/shallow or too thick/thin or whatever, AGSL would ding it and not give it their top cut grade.
