Opinions on this setting?

I'm thinking of pairing this setting in platinum with a lab grown round ~2.5 ct diamond. Is this setting good? Do you like it? What would you prefer if you don't like it. I don't want any additional stones on the actual round ring portion. But hidden halos are ok.

It’s 1.8 mm which is thin. Personally I would find a vendor near you who would set your Ritani diamond in their setting. I don’t find Ritani settings all that sturdy.

Thanks, I was thinking that, but the prices are actually quite a bit higher with local vendors.

I think anything over 2-3 mm is fine. I got a 1.8 from them and sent it back.

Setting styles are so subjective as far as like or disliking. That size stone , I’d go with a thicker band as well. I’ve seen diamonds by Lauren do a nice hidden halo but the first picture you posted gives me turtle neck vibes which in my opinion takes away from the center that should be the show stopper. I like the second one better. At the end of the day, pick something you’ll be happy with.

I just got this one from James Allen (link above). Both setting and wedding band are 2mm. The hidden halo detail is a mix of what you shared — a small halo collar at base plus larger halo just below girdle. For reference, this is a size 4.75 finger size in platinum, with 2.08 ct center stone.

But I would get it without all the extra stones on the ring. The metal size is 1.9 mm. Good?

That is the magic of photos. It does not look that large in real life. Its 8.17 x 8.22.
My fingers are much smaller IRL as well - size 4.75 finger.

Do you think a 9 mm round diamond on a size 4 finger (15 mm width) will look too big? Almost gaudy?
