If you want an opinion on just numbers, the color is low enough to afford you a deal, since most people do not want radiants in colors lower than H. (unless they are colored diamonds) As you know radiants are cuts created to induce color from rough...

The table is large, which when in movement, will give a larger table flash, which some people will say gives the illusion of larger. It will have a lower crown, and since it has a decent depth, it seems the spread will be there for you, compared to deeper and higher crowned stones.

EGL cert should also give you a discount, versus GIA, considering it could be SI or L color at it''s worst... but if that is OK with you, I say get an appraiser to check it out before you buy it, then if they think the EGL is accurate, get it. If not, ask for a GIA, or ask that they sell it at the appraisers verified color and clairty. You don''t want to pay for a J VS2 (even deeply discounted), if you can get it for a L SI!

Wow- is it really THAT bad of a diamond?

Well that's my subjective call based on the information provided and the general preferences of the PS users. Frankly, I have never seen the diamond in person, so I can't qualify it's light performance or what it looks like. It may be beautiful, because as we all know each cutter has a design in their diamond, and perhaps they created the right angle of crown and pavillion for an exact look you like. However based on paper, I gave you my objective opinion on the benefits and disadvantages. It's really up to you what you want in a stone.

Until any of us visually see the stone and see the price, I doubt a really good description of it can be made. What did you think when you saw it? Did it speak to you? Did you like the L:W ratio? Did the facet pattern appeal to you? Did you like the color head on? What color metal are you using to set it?
