I personally like the F VS2 color/clarity combination, especially in fancy shaped stones. As far as the cut, it's tough to give a really good critque with the info provided, but just by the table and depth numebrs, it looks the stone has the potential to be very well cut. It doesn't look like that stone is part of their signature series, so I don't think it's one they have in stock (rather it's on a virtual database that several vendors have access to). It would help if they could get a full sarin report on it, and even better if they could bring it in and give you their opinion on it and possibly send an idealscope picture to you. Once you get numbers off a sarin report, the cut grading chart on www.gemappraisers.com is a good tool to see if the diamond warrants further examintaion as a possibility. this stone can't end up that bad on AGA's... with table, depth and crown height as main parameters, the variation of crown height alone can budge the AGA grade a bit (say one position) but it will fall short of telling whether the stone would have good light return or not. So?

I would definitely prefer an Iscope picture (or any test of brilliance directly done o the stone) to those Sarin numbers. They are rather good for rounds (since the HCA provides a way to interpret those number with some degree of accuracy) but definitely not very conclusive for any other cut (with no HCA-like model in place).

You're definitely right Valeria. However, while it's possible to infer a good AGA grade with the info provided, it won't give you a result without all the numbers, so it might not be apparent to all. I just wanted to bring it up more for future stones that may be a consideration, since I'm sure he'll get plenty of good advice here about this stone. also, I agree that an idealscope picture is a better predicter of light return, but it seems that it's easier to get sarin numbers than IS pictures (not including some of the awesome PS vendors we get spoiled with), so to me it makes sense to start off with the AGA chart to narrow down the field and then pick which stones you're going to ask for IS pictures of (assuming they're not already up on the website).
