Would love opinions on these:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6215/

I''ve emailed them but haven''t heard back yet, so in the mean time I''ve just browsed their inventory online. Our budget is $>6,000 for the diamond and I realize that diamond is less than that, however the others that are around $6,000 are closer to 1 carat.

Thanks!!

The 1.18 used to be mine -if you like L color it''s fabulous!!!!!

Oh really! If I may ask, why did you give it up?

I''ve seen some gorgeous L colored AVC''s on here so I''m not against it by any means.

I went up to a higher color (G). I felt the L blended into my skin tone too much, and I just didn''t love the warmth as much as I hoped to. It is a beautiful stone, full of fire, and I dare say (gulp) performs better than the G AVC I upgraded to! There is a thread about that stone around here somewhere - let me see if I can find it for you.

here ya go - link

I do have reservations - and I''m "pale" so I''m sure that doesn''t help the whole skin tone problem (ugh)... I''ll check out the link.

Thanks!!

p.s. Does GOG have more inventory than what they show on their site? I sent an email to them about what I''m looking for plus budget and was hoping they could maybe have a couple more diamonds to show me than what they show on their site.

I don''t know if they *have* more, but they''ll put you on a waiting list I know.

I''ve also seen the 1.05 E SI1 in person and it is icy white with a decent spread...

These are both beautiful if the warmth an L colour will show is something you can embrace.

Hi there, I am in the process of sending back my I vvs2.. (I changed my mind and decided to go for an F) there are some links to it here if you want a peek? Looks like it''s in your range.

Oh wow! May I ask what the price was on the diamond? It still shows reserved so it doesn''t list the price. But I love what I see so far...

Thanks again for letting me know!

I noticed that one has a large cutlet... I''m indifferent on that - is it usually personal preference with those?

Yes it can be, I like a large culet and the kozibe effect if the diamond shows it ( reflection of the culet throughout the stone), see the image below from ArjunaJane which shows the kozibe effect.

The 1.21 ct used to be mine, I loved it. Have D & E colours in other diamonds so wanted an L.

It was!?? That''s the one I''m leaning towards. Why did you give it back? If you didn''t have the whiter diamonds to compare to would the L color have been noticeable as not being as white?

Thanks again!
Jen

p.s. Do you have any photos of it from when you had it? (in a setting... )

I''ve never seen an AVC in the flesh so can''t comment on this specifically, but comparing an E to an L is an apples/oranges kind of a comparison. You need to try on some of the lower coloured diamonds to work out whether you like/tolerate/can''t tolerate/LOVE the colour, because an L WILL show colour, even a beautifully cut stone in this size.

Then once you''ve worked out whether you want a "warmer" or a colourless diamond, it will be easier for you to narrow it down.

I upgraded to a larger size, that''s the only reason. Sorry, I don''t have any pics of it in it''s setting, although the setting used was Gabriel & Co. WER 4181. Fortunately, I was able to use the same setting for my upgrade. You really need to go and see some lower coloured (well cut) diamonds compared to higher ones to see where your comfort level is. I must say though, that for me, comparing my D & E to the L, the L really suits the AVC well.

Hi there - I''m not sure if this was directed at me... but if so, here is some more details and photos on this thread.
I haven''t seen the stone myself (I''m in Australia) so my lovely jeweller JBEG was happy to take delivery and take photos for me.
I love the stone, and for me it is a LONG story why I have changed stones, basically I just wanted a higher color and because it''s my first and only diamond, and for my engagment ring, I just decided I should go for whiter if that''s what my heart wants. Price range was around $5700.
As you can see from the pics it looks fabo.
