Hello and Happy New Years to everyone in Pricescope land!

I put this stone on hold today while I finalize the setting choice on the e-ring for my future wife. I'd love to hear everyones opinions. It's from Whiteflash and the depth, table, crown, pavillion all fall within ACA guidelines but the "Star %" is very slightly above (ACA limit is 55 and this is 56). It looks/seems like a great diamond and from what the Gemologist at Whiteflash said, it's an excellent performer. They mentioned that the hearts on it have a slight cleft which isn't totally ideal for an ACA stone but it doesn't seem to effect performance.

For those that are curious, I'm looking into the pricing on this Verragio setting in 18k yellow gold...

I'm also considering one of these 2 in 18k yellow gold instead...

As it just missed being a Whiteflash ACA, it is still a AGSL Ideal and looks to be beautiful, I think you made a great choice and congrats.

It looks stunning! She is going to love it!

Let me start by saying that this looks to be a great stone.

My personal preference for an e-ring is F or G-colored. Some will advise that H-colored is fine, but it's really a person-to-person decision.

Some people also suggest a lower color, if a stone will be upgraded in the future, but I am more traditional in that I want an e-ring stone to be 'the one' for the duration of our relationship.

Here are a couple of other options, which would be about the same price (after Pricescope discount), but a better color -

1.216ct, F, SI1

1.183ct, G, VS1

I'll have a look at these stones to compare. I am ok with an H color stone though. When I look in person, It's pretty hard to see the difference between a H and a G and the cut/clarity of the one I picked should make it face up pretty white, at least that's what people say. This is my first diamond purchase of any significance, afterall.

Sounds like H works for you, then! FYI - the clarity of the stone won't make it face-up any more/less white, except in extreme examples (some SI2, I1).

If it's possible to confirm with your wife-to-be that she is also good with this color (since she is the one wearing it, after all). Like I said, many people are fine with H, but it's always better to be safe than sorry!
