opinions on this BGD H&A diamond

Looks like a great diamond. The only thing that worries me is that feather on the girdle. If you look at the inclusions map, it goes from the crown down to the pavilion. I would ask if any of the feathers break the surface and if the one on the girdle poses any durability risks. I doubt it, but it never hurts to ask. Also, it looks like it would be eye clean, but I would ask that as well.

The real expert in this instance is probably Brian Gavin himself. I would call and discuss the stone with him. He will be honest and frank with you. I doubt it would be in his signature collection if any of the inclusions posed a durability risk though.

Agreed.

I'm looking for a diamond engagement ring and spotted this from Brian Gavin. I'd be curious to hear some thoughts from some experts good & bad.

It looks fairly clean from the image and loupe option, but I'd also inquire about the feather just to be sure. It may be prongable, or something that can be set right beside a prong and well concealed and protected. From the top view it doesn't look like it's problematic.
