Opinions On These Two Rings

I don't care for bypass rings... they always seem off-balance to me, like they want to be straight, but just can't get there. I don't think it's possible to get a band to look right with them unless they are sort of... well, weird shaped (not symmetrical) to sit against the ering.

Of the rings you posted, I like the original #2 the best. It looks more balanced and solid to me - different without being different, KWIM?

honestly it looks like it would fit a wedding band just fine, it looks basically like a regular diamond setting, but just has a slight split shank with one part being pave and one not. its very unique, but not as "look at me im different!" as the other one. Which, again, i think is a positive thing for a ring you are buying without her input

Of those two I far prefer 2. It's like just a plain diamond solitaire but with the slightest twist. It seems like the safer bet if its a surprise. Also, were you going with palladium ??

# 2 is making a strong come back!

No palladium ... that was just the version of the ring on the link I posted. I would like to do platinum, but probably 14k white gold in order to afford a nicer diamond.

If I had to choose I would say number one. But something with a similar flow and more delicate prongs would be a great improvement.

Edit to add: also not a fan of asymmetry and I agree that I think halos are costumey. (I think we are in the minority around these parts haha)

I think I really like #2 of your original choice! It has a nice flow to it and I like the detail on the head where it attaches to the shank. I find it pleasing. The one lone vote in favour of #2! lol!
