Here is a place where you can start getting information about fancy shapes and some guidelines for fancy cut diamonds. It is still best to have a truly independent appraiser examine the diamond (be careful about who you choose to do that job if you are asking someone in the diamond district):

From what I can tell, this diamond is not particularly well-cut according to the AGA guidelines. I would suggest searching for another.
