I’m looking at the Rose Cut Gabby by Singlestone. I would wear it with my 1.6 ct L coloured August Vintage Cushion.

I would love some opinions from anyone who is familiar with Singlestone and rose cut diamonds.

My sister told me not to buy from them as they were featured on the show Love After Lockup so in her opinion they can’t be quality. I would love some feedback. Maybe it was just an extremely poor marketing decision?

Also thoughts on pairing any kind of eternity band with an L diamond? I was thinking antique cuts wouldn’t be as blindingly white and stand out as much as modern RBs.

Thanks!

SS has gorgeous pieces.

My honest opinion, though, is that their pricing is through the roof for vintage- and antique-inspired pieces. This design isn’t uncommon at all - even Tiffany has a similar line! I think this sort of ring could be created by any number of jewellers for non-trivially lower cost.

Rose cuts are a great idea to pair with an L centerstone! Especially rose cuts without any backing - when worn, the colour of your skin will further muddle any viewers’ ability (including your own!) to compare colour. Another option is lower-colour single cut diamonds. Melee isn’t purchased by specific colour the way larger stones are - it’s basically wholesaled in packets of “colourless, high clarity”, “low-colour, lower clarity”, and “low-colour, high clarity” - the third option is both most rare and most pricey, since this is what high end watch manufacturers target for their creations.

I'm not allowed to comment on the vendor, however I think that rose cuts next to an L color antique cushion will look FABULOUS!

There is probably not a jewelry designer in the world that isn't super happy that rose cuts are in fashion, they are amazing to design with and much less expensive than full cuts per carat and MUCH MUCH less expensive by MM (because they weigh about half as much)

It's pretty sweet to be able to offer clients 5.5mm round rose cut side diamonds for 1/4 the price of 5.5mm full cuts (1/4 for diamonds, not 1/4 for the whole piece), especially in art deco or other antique styles.

Rock on!

I have always loved Singlestone designs and have been to a trunk show in the last 3-4 years and saw a huge number of their pieces. It was so much fun to try on pieces that I had only seen online. That said, the prices are way too high. Maybe the pricing corresponds with CA real estate prices, but I didn't feel the items were worth the cost. Workmanship is above average but not the very best that I have seen. If I were having any antique style ring made, I'd use Caysie van Bebber because her design skills are excellent and so is her bench. She has a small operation and sometimes the wait is longer, but in my experience, it's been worth it. If stones have to be custom cut, production of the piece does not start until the stones are in. Of course, you could just compare prices.

Here are a few of her bands. She may have made the exact style you want before, but I don't know for sure. She works with rose cuts a lot, though.

singlestone has some really pretty pieces. I spent some time at their showroom and tried on some lovely pieces. They use gold very liberally. I love their overall aesthetic. For the most part, the craftsmanship is good. But the prices are quite high, for what it is.

I haven't seen many larger rose cuts. But i will tell you that i saw a rose cut halo on an ovaly old mine brilliant. And it was sublime!

I have the rose cut gabby in rose gold and I have been very happy with it
