Hi all -

I’ve been a lurker forever and now deciding to post because I’m in the process of considering purchasing the following stone. I’ve had it in my possession and it looks good. Thoughts? Thank you in advance

Looks good on paper. Can you shoot some pics of the stone?

Here’s a few pics. I’m loving it so far, but I still appreciate other views.

I think it's spectacular! And it looks lovely on your (very graceful) hand.

Wow, big and bright! How will you set her?

Stunning diamond with great specs! It looks lovely on your hand:love:

Beautiful!

It looks great. I mean at that clarity you shouldn’t see any inclusions and the color should be fine if you are not very color sensitive. How do you feel about it? How does it compare to your other diamonds?

Also did you purposely seek out a strong blue fluorescence diamond? Do you like the glow in the dark extra feature? I’m curious if it helps the H face up brighter...

P.s. sorry so many questions but really, the diamond looks good. I guess the question is whether you can bear to return it? If not congrats and pls share how you plan to set it. :)

Lovely diamond! I don't think you can go wrong with HPD though... super ideal cut, big, bright, and white -- with SBF to boot! Gorgeous! Congratulations to you!

Return it?? Whaaaaaatttt???? Why on earth would you think she'd want to return this gorgeous stone??

So it sounds like there is a bit of uncertainty?

Other than considering changing the size or deciding that she doesn't like fluoro... I don't see how this diamond could possibly be a "pass" :)

Cut - check! superideal (can't go wrong with HPD)
Clarity - check!
Color - check! H is white... esp with the fluorescence

@LoveWins, what are you questioning, in particular, about this stone? :)

ETA: being color sensitive is different from color tolerance (not that an H is warm)... some prefer G/H over D/E. It's just a matter of preference.

Thank you. I’m starting to feel more and more attached to her as the days go by that we’ve spent together. So below is my current setting ... Bottom picture is with my 1 carat G stone that’s now on consignment.
2nd picture is another stone I had same color and size just a different clarity that I just put in my ering setting to get an idea of what my new ring would look like.

I want to use my current .10 pointers in my wedding band/ering so I’ll keep the same design or change it slightly.

No problem re. the questions. So I feel like I see something on the table but I'm not sure if it's something that needs to be wiped off. I'm going to discuss that with HPD but honestly it's very small and I may have laser eye vision or extreme OCD...LOL! Crazy because I do wear glasses. However it does not bother me vs. the H SI1 stone I had. Not to mention I can't afford to go to a VVS2 or VVS2.

No I did not purposely seek out a stone with medium blue fluorescence it just happen to be around the max I wanted to spend and VS1 clarity. As far as the glow in the dark feature....I suck because I have not even blacked out my house to see that feature. As far as facing up whiter honestly it looks about the same in comparison to the H SI1 stone I had.

I've posted below my current setting. Hope I helped a tad bit in answering your questions.

Exactly I just wanted opinions ... LOL. That's my personality type. Plus not to mention I got tired of feeling like a lurker so I wanted to start posting. :-)

I wanted opinions as I value those on this forum based on my lurking, but I consider everything I buy until it's finalized.

Funny you mention that I started with a J and realized I had to go to an H. Honestly H is my cut off point. I can't wait to talk about how amazing HPD has been in this process. I've definitely gained new friends. I LOVE all your checks, you are so right!!! <3 :-)

I started with a 2.01 I (before I officially got the ring - HA!!), then changed to a 2.43 J (first ring), then upgraded to a 3.33 I, so I get it! ;) I must say... I am a bit envious of all the beautiful super ideals floating around on the forum these days! ;)

This ring looks amazing on you LoveWins! It would be a keeper for me!!!:mrgreen2:

It looks beyond beautiful to me and stunning on your graceful hands! I'll be interested to see how you decide to set it!!! :)

it looks beautiful! An extremely white H + VS1. Great find!

Thank you it’s very white and perfect for my mind. HPD has been great and their SITBI option is just top notch. I initially thought a J color would be great based on pics I saw here. It was definitely stunning but I struggled mentally so I moved to an H color.

Aww so kind of you. I’m eternally grateful for all the great comments and positive people on this board. As far as my setting it will probably be similar to what I posted above. I’m trying to come up with ideas but still utilize my .10 pointers.

My CBI has medium fluorescence. When I held it for the first time under direct sunlight, it looked an amazing icy blue, my favorite color, so I naturally fell in love with it. I think the fluorescence makes my G look whiter without the negative cloudiness. Wink with HPD, and I’m certain, Paul with CBI meticulously vet through the fluorescent rough to ensure no milkiness in final product. I’ve attached my own ASET image I took with my iPhone. Honestly, as others have mentioned, can’t go wrong with CBI super-ideal. It’ll be a sparkler. Try not to get too distracted by it. Congrats!!!

How awesome! I know that Wink mentioned exactly what you said about meticulously vetting their diamonds to ensure they are a true representation and consistent of the CBI brand. I’m going to search the board so I can see your stone. I love looking at all things HPD/CBI. Thank you and I’m interested to know how your diamond sparkles.

Am looking for “secret sauce with strong or very strong dash of extra” now... fingers crossed it’s possible. :Up_to_something2:
