Thoughts?

Much appreciated, everyone.

The pavillion is deeper than we recommend. I think you'd find that the stone is not as pretty when looked at closely than from afar. But, can you get an ASET or IS image for this?

Something like this has a better balance of angles. You can put this on hold, if you like it, and ask the JA rep to request an IS (idealscope) image.

Or a super-ideal like this, which is over budget but we can look for others.

Pavilion depth or angle? What’s recommended?

1) Look at GIA XXX or AGS 000 only

2) Use these parameters.
depth - 60 - 62.5%
table - 54- 57.5% (up to 58% with a good CA/PA pairing)
crown angle - 34- 34.5 degrees
pavilion angle - 40.6- 40.8 degrees
girdle - thin to slightly thick, thin to medium, etc (avoid very thin or thick)
polish and symmetry - very good and above
Lower Girdle Facets - 75-80 (though I like closer to 75 when given the choice)

3) You can run the stone through the HCA tool (https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca). This is an elimination tool. You eliminate anything over 2.0. What's left, is worth pursuing an IS or ASET image to look at light return. If the numbers are well in the middle of the above ranges, and the photo/video look good, a IS or ASET may be 100% needed.

***We can look for options for you too. We may post some that don't meet these exact numbers or stay within the HCA. Don't despair or eliminate them out of hand. We are often more experienced at looking at the videos and seeing how the stone performs.:mrgreen2:

If I’m not mistaken, all my stone’s values are within your stated parameters?

Ack. You are correct. Apologies. :oops2:

What are the inclusions from the cert? What does it say in comments?

No worries! Here’s the characteristics image. Pinpoint, cloud, feather. There are no comments and no black inclusions even under 40x.

Looks great! Do you have a setting selected?

Sleep easy. You did great. Post pics when you get it!

Hi Iam, the diamond looks great! No worries with the VG for spread on the HCA, this is the usual score for most other than shallower diamonds.

You have nothing to worry about, no concerns from us, be happy and congratulations on a super purchase!

Good catch! Congrats on this diamond, I'm sure it's a very well performing one under a different lighting..
