Hello, first post here. I''m posting to inquire about what everybody thinks here. This was what I had purchased for my now ex wife. Now sitting on this for over 2 years since our divorce, (yes I was fortunate enough to get the ring back in the divorce + the house! HA!) but anyways, I''m not coming on here to sell this, so don''t take it like that, I have to do that locally in person. However I would like to get some peoples thoughts on what you all think I could get out of this. I paid over $7k for it, and it''s appraised at $6,900. The center stone is a Star 129 0.53ct F color VVS2. The remaining side stones are all G- H and VS1 - VS2. The wedding band of 4 marquise are G-H and VS1 - SI1.
When I got this back, I took it down to have the rings separated and reconditioned into like new. I''ve been to numerous jewelry shops here in Wichita only to be offered around $800 for the entire thing, including it''s GEMEX report and GIA cert documents. However with 2 people who would buy it for $5k if they could afford it, I know I have to just wait till I find the right person. A rather reputable jeweler told me to not take less than $5,000 for it, so I''m sticking with his advice. So, please tell me, would I be wasting my time waiting for the right person? Is asking a bit over $5k too much? Thank you.. looking forward to replies!
