So I have been thinking about getting a platinum round shared prong eternity band either from facets or from ebay and switch it out with my current wedding band and maybe even wear it with my e-ring and current wedding band too. My current wedding band is 3mm and I love it but I''m thinking that a shared prong round eternity would be pretty too and look a little daintier! So my big decision is to whether get a .8cttw (.03 each) which is 2.1mm or a 1.2cttw (.05 each) which is 2.6mm. Which do you think would look better with my set or with my e-ring? If you choose the smaller one do you think it will look nice on its own too. I wear a size 5. I attached a pic below so that you can see my current set. 1.51 carat princess center I-VS1 center set in platinum with baguette sidestones. Current wedding band is also in platinum .6cttw princess channel set. I don''t know if anyone could photoshop my pic to have a shared prong band vs. my current channel set band. If so, I''d love your help!!!!

I would get the thinner band because it will look better with your e-ring, which has a nice thin shank.

Thanks Dreamer, you are always a big help! I have looked thru the "show me your eternity ring" thread a million times but they don''t really say ring size often or share what carat each diamond is in the e-bands. Do you think the smaller band (.8cttw) will look nice on its own too???!!!

Dreamer, I was actually just looking at your Dream half eternity from BGD, do you think that would work with my e-ring? I am thinking on doing .03 melees? Also, my e-ring is plat, do you think it would be ok to do 18kg white gold?

I do think it would look good with your e-ring! The ring is very delicate, I don''t tend to wear it on its own because of that. It does still look good by itself, of course, but I prefer more finger bling. I have another half eternity with 8 pointers that makes a better stand alone ring BUT that size half eternity overpowers my e-ring, which is 1.2ct.

As to mixing wg and plat... I have heard mixed things. Honestly, if it is not every day, I would not worry. What is the bigger issue is that the girdles of the diamonds will scratch your e-ring, I noticed it happened to mine

I think that I will get a small spacer for when I want to wear the half eternity or something. I like this one from eweddingbands.com, which they just started carrying as far as I can tell http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/product168153.html But that type of scratching happens with any diamond band unfortunately.

Dreamer, thanks again so much for your input!

I went to a local jewelry store and saw a really thin, pretty bezel with miligrain band. I tried it on and it was so shimmery. Very expensive for 18kg but it is a B & M store. So I looked at WF and they recommended the WF Danielle Jazz band. They said they could add mligrain. It is 2.3mm wide .01 melee. Smaller diamond weight than I thought I wanted but I think it will be pretty and sparkly considering they are ACA''s. They are working on quoting me now. It is my first time doing business with them and they are awesome! This will be an early mothers day gift. I have an 11 month old so I want to get his name and birthday engraved in the inside! What do you all think of this band with my set or just with my e-ring? And do you think I should stick with miligrain or without. It honestly was barely noticeable on the one I tried on because it is so small but it gave it a little sparkle. Thanks for your help!!!
