Hello members,

This is my first ever diamond purchase on my own and I am so scared about choosing right. Would really appreciate some opinions on this diamond :

Table: 57.0%
Polish: Excellent

What I want is a pretty sparkly stone and not being able to see it before buying is kind of hard.

Also I like this simple setting

But am wondering if this would block some light ?

Thank you so much for your help.

Nope. Leakage, you can even see leakage in the loupe image.

Thank you so much Stone-cold11

I have been doing so much research about things to consider while buying a diamond , But here I was surprised by a new term again.

I really appreciate your help.

Currently waiting fingers crossed for the idealscope image.

This idealscope image looks good to me.
The black speck is probably the cloud inclusion listed in the clarity characteristic, it is not plotted in the report because of the report type which is a Diamond Quality Dossier. You can see it in the loupe image.

Probably eye-clean, but you can ask JA if it is so.

The Idealscope image for the H&A stone is taken with the stone tilted. Looks like a good image if you adjust for the tilt or you can just ask JA to retake that image again.

Thank you Stone-cold11.

The crystal is eye visible on tilting. ( Does that make sense for a VS2 ?)
What is the impact of an visible speck close to the table? Does it have an effect on the brilliance?

On comparing both the stones, the main difference seems to be the clarity (VS2 and VS1) .
Would you say that the H&A diamond would sparkle more ?
I guess I am sort of struggling to visulize the ''extra'' in the H&A diamond without actually seeing it, but I would like to get a stone which sparkles more.

So it is better to buy this (http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6148/) over the other two ?

Both H VS1s are good options in my book. I don''t like eye visible inclusions, it is nothing to do with brilliance and sparkle, I just don''t ike seeing little specs in my diamonds

So the VS2 is out.

GOG has some better policies that JA, more liberal trade up, buy back policy. If these matter than it could make the difference. I don''t know the price difference though. Is there much? The JA diamond is .2mm larger.

Ditto DD - I vote for the GOG stone, the policies alone would sway me, plus non-eye-clean would probably bug me, if it was something I could easily see in regular light and without magnification.
