Opinions about a custom band for 3-stone diamond ring (centre yellow)

I''m looking to get a 3-stone diamond ring remounted to a nicer band. The centre stone is yellow diamond approx 1.5ct, with each side stone approx 0.33ct each in white diamond. I''ve found a style of band that I absolutely love (see pic), which will match my Lucida e-ring quite well.

Is it preferable that the centre stone be mounted using yellow gold prongs and gold cup underneath to make it appear more yellow? I went to Birks to get an estimate on this work and it will cost me $4K. I know I am paying a premium for the Birks name but wondering if this is wayyy overpriced? I''m meeting another jeweler that my cousin recommended this weekend, but I''m leaning towards going with Birks incase I have any issues etc.

So... long story short... wondering if anyone has opinions on this type of band, set as described above (with yellow gold prongs in middle, rest platinum), as well as custom design pricing?

That seems like a high price for the setting to me. Brian Gavin diamonds has some similar and he does beautiful work. Compare prices. I believe whiteflash.com has one like this too.
