Hello everyone. For those who know how to read the IDEALSCOPE (I don''t )
emsmile.gif
images, could you please weigh in on the attached specs and
images for a stone I am considering? I do have a request to speak to the gemologist about the feather near the girdle as stone cold
recommended but aside from that issue, please let me know what you think. I can''t seem to paste the image properly so it is attached.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a winner!

looks good to me.

DiamondSeeker, StoneCold, thanks! Just a little worried about that feather position and whether or not it could affect the durability of the stone but
I guess I will find out tomorrow when speaking with JA. Best Regards, FLSTFI03

Looks good. Let us know about the feather. You can always get an independent appraisal if you are concerned after speaking to JA. Or just insure the diamond and it won''t really matter so much

Its an excellent image, check with one of the gemologists at JA concerning the feather as they will be able to advise.

Thanks everyone...Dreamer, Stonecold, Lorelei good news on the feather...it does not extend out into the girdle and is completely internal. The gemologist did not believe the feather would pose any sort of issue. Everyone here has been such a great help.

Is there a place section on PS where people recommend settings? I want a really nice thin halo with a plain platinum band at a reasonable
price...whatever that is!

You are most welcome!

Settings are normally discussed in Rocky Talk too so you are fine to continue here. I will have a look later for some selections for you.

Congrats.

I know nothing on setting, so others will have to help. :P

You know a good amount about metals SC so you can definitely help there!

The 9 and 10 o''clock arrow heads are misalinged and the stone is very slightly non-symmetrical. Still, the IS performs pretty well. The darker shading to the bottom left is just how JA take their photos (the light source position) and is nothing to worry about.

AshNZ the stone is not offered as a H&A. Any misalignment will have nothing to do with the stones appearnce by any eagle eyed human. It is a fine stone.

The feather is under the girdle which is good - it can be seen from the top - have JA make the setting and I would suggest they put the feather close to a prong (or they may suggest under a prong - having the stone in hand is better than using reports and images), preferrably N-S as E-W gets more knocking around.

Garry, thanks for all of the information, HCA, IS, articles, etc. As a buyer of technical products, it is refreshing to know that these tools exist to make an otherwise
incredibly difficult purchase a whole lot easier!

Dreamer, thanks for the setting reccomendation....I am also considering the Menlo setting from JA but the 2700 sticker (platinum post discount) has me considering
other options. Not sure I would even know where to start with going down the Leon path...he has absolutely amazing stuff but my head may start to hurt if I have to start
specs on a custom stone....

Good weekend to all, I''m here in the NE USA and we are going to get slammed with snow soon!

I think leon will be more than the $2700 anyways.
