hello everyone , I'm new to the forum and need some opinion on this diamond I'm looking at.

.70 H SI1
Certificate: GIA
Cut: very good
Depth: 60.3%
Table: 57.0%
Crown Angle : 34 deg
Pav Angle : 40.2 deg
Girdle: Medium to Thick (Faceted)
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Culet: Very Small
Fluorescence: None

It scores 1.1 in HCA, but it didn't make it to ex cut according to GIA.
should i go ahead for it? or better goes with a H&A for safe?
is there anything i need to be aware of?

thanks for your help!

Is the diamond intended for a ring?

If so, I would keep looking. The shallower pavillion will likely lead to obstruction issues, where the diamond goes dark when viewed from a close distance. This diamond would be great for a pendant or earrings, but is not the best for a ring.

H&A is not neccessry to have a diamond that performs well, you just need to make sure that all the proportions are complimentary.

thanks for the quick reply! that was really helpful, I would never thought of that.

yes, the diamond is intend for engagement ring.
so what is your suggestion of pav. that fit for ring?

Move the point on the HCA chart to where the GIA Ex/AGS Ideal score is but still score below 2.

For a T 57% CA 34, PA should be around 40.8-41.0 degrees.

did my search again, does this one works better for ring?

IS looks good, hearts image is a bit off, might be due to image taking or the optical symm of the stone is not good enough. Ask JA to take the pic again if you want to confirm it is truly a H&A.
