Please give me your comments/feedback on the Isee2 diamond that I am strongly considering buying. It is from a brick & mortar store and with a price of $6,695($7130 w/tax). I had troubles finding a stone with a good cut at a B&M and then I ran across this Isee2.

Is this a pretty good diamond? Is this a decent price for the quality of the stone (considering from a B&M)? Any other recommendations/suggestions welcome.

.91 CT Round
Cert: AGS
Cut: triple ideal (0 on polish/symmetry/proportion)
Color: G
Clarity: SI1
ISee2 score: 9.5/10

Sarin?:
Diam: 6.27mm (6.24-6.39)
Depth: 3.83mm 61.1%
Crown: 34.4 deg. 14.7%
Pavil: 40.6 deg. 42.7%
Table: 3.57mm 56.9%
Cutlet 0.8% very small
Girdle 1.3% Ex Thin. SI Thick

HCA:
EX/EX/EX/VG
.8 (using crown and pav angles)
1.1 (using %)

Thank you in advance for the help.

The diamond is nice but it's $2000 more than similar quality you can find on the net. If I were spending that kind of money, I'd go over the carat mark because it's very much do-able.

Check out the F SI1's on this page:

similar diamonds

And here's a 1.01 G SI1 for over $1000 less.

1.01 G SI1

I'm one of those people who would never buy a stone at B&M because I have lots of experience with the internet vendors, including the one in the link and I know I'll get good service.

Good luck to you. I think you're right on track with G SI1 because I think that's the best value for your money in a diamond.........still white and eye clean but not over the top. Perfect, but the stone from the B&M is way overpriced in my opinion.

Obviously you have a very nice, quite expensive stone.

If this works for you, why not?

Anyway... you have already chosen to consider these tests (Isee 2, HCA) as good means to evaluate the quality of a diamond. And since many think so too, these tests and stats make great tools to sell top stones "sight unseen", and at great prices to boot. Isee2 is quite a harsh test, taking into account symmetry as well as brilliance. At some point, the maker decided to reserve this tool to B&M users... something that must have changed, so you will find Isee2 scores listed online. Also, other such tests can compensate for the Isee and definitely expand your choices.

It may not be fair to ask the same price from B&M and virtual store (something not very straight forward, since many shops would be both), even factoring that tax out. But... it's up to you to buy a diamond not help the diamond industry change - this it does it on it's own beautifully
