I would like any and all comments about this diamond please

GIA
Weight: 1.42
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Polish: E
Symmetry: E

Depth: 60.9
Table: 56.2
Crown: 34.2
Pavil: 40.8
Culet: 0.1
Girdle: 1.1 (0.9-1.4)
(Thin)

My spefic concern is this - is the girdle too thin? If the 0.9 are directly across from each other can they be set under the prongs to protect them from bumps/knocks?

Thanks much!

You may find one already where the stone is posted including accurate star and lower girdles in the model. ;)

Got me! I wasn't fast enough editing the post:bigsmile:

Do you have a response to my concern?

Sure. I hate to comment on my own stones since I don't want to be accused of self promotion but since you ask. A .9% minimum girdle is fine. When it starts getting around that .5 range then you're approaching the danger zone. I've seen and do carry stones where the girdle goes down to .7% and have never had any problems.

AGS Ideal girdles can range from as thin as .51% and up to 3%. You're safe. The other stone I told you about is also there now too and I put it's .gem file there with it too. ;)

Peace,
Rhino

woops ... just read original question. Why was I thinking you wanted .gem file? My bad. Forget it.... :knockout:

Please read PM. Thanks

GIA grade girdle thickness based on measured thickness not %.

A .9% at the thinnest part on a .5ct stone is a bit thin, but .9% on a 1.4ct stone is OK :)
.9% on about a 1.75ct would actually be graded as slightly thick!

Hi Garry,

I think that, justme, may have been
refering to the durability of a .9
girdle thickness.

In which case should be OK.

The 1.42 is the pick. It's mine and I'm a smiling lady!

Jonathon is excellent to work with.

Can't wait to actually see it up close and personal.
