Found this one on Blue Nile and all looks good to me except that the Crown angle is 32.5. HCA score was a .90. Would this be a good engagement ring diamond or should I seek better. Budget is tight. $6000 max w/ setting. It is GIA graded.

Ideal Cut
Color: J
Clarity: VS1
Depth: 61.3
Table: 55
Pavilion: 40.8
Crown 32.5

Can you post a link to the stone itself?

It looks to me that the body color is brown, not yellow.
If the budget is $6000, I recommend you to get a better stone and a cheaper setting. You can try 1ct I color.

If you have 6k, I would recommend using most of the budget on the stone itself. Has your gf told you what setting styles she likes, what size stone she wants, and anything about color preference? Are you open to (or do you plan to) upgrade the ring in the future?

No information from the girlfriend on preferences. She doesn't know I'm buying it. She not picky in the least. I'm trying to buy the best for the buck. She wear a lot of pandora jewelry if that helps. Setting has to be platinum because she is allergic to golds. Maybe at some point way down the line an upgrade might happen, but that would have to be up to my girlfriend.

Ok, then I would stick with a simple setting ($800 or 1k max) and then spend the rest on the center stone.

I Appreciate your help.

Found these two on whiteflash. The .93ct looks very nice. Any input?

I agree with you.

There is another 0.937ct that you can consider. Contact WF, asking them for a side-by-side comparison.

Found this J color on Whiteflash. It's a bit cheaper then the I color and doesn't appear overly yellow and very clean. If I paired it with this setting think it would make for a nice ring or should I stick with the I color previously posted.

Sorry for all the posts just trying to way my options and utilize my budget without too much sacrificing. Appreciate all the input!

My personal preference is to always go for a simple solitaire if your girlfriend hasn’t told you what she likes, in case she wants to change the setting you’d like to have spent the least possible on the actual setting! If you can find a face up white J and get a bit more spread that’s the choice I would personally make, you can always pair it with a pave wedding band and I love the look of a solitaire ring with a delicate pave wedding band.

I like your design and choice.
