It actually scores 4.4 on the HCA, so I would not purchase the diamond. The table is very large in my taste and the angles are a little steep.

what is your budget? can we help find you a stone?

Thanks!
Is there a chart on PS or elsewhere that tells you exactly what the table, depth, pav angle and crown angle should measure based on the weight of the diamond? For example, you mentioned steep angles and large table, what should they have been to be more ideal. How come the report says that this diamond is considered ideal cut, but it obviously has major issues. This is so confusing if you are a novice like myself.

Lorelei''s cheat sheet, I hope she doesn''t mind my posting it!

Here is said cheat sheet you can use as a guide to help you AB, it should help you with depth, table etc!

depth - 60 - 62% - although my personal preference is to allow up to 62.4%
table - 54- 57%
crown angle - 34- 35 degrees
pavilion angle - 40.6- 41 degrees
girdle - avoid extremes, look for thin to slightly thick, thin to medium etc
polish and symmetry - very good and above

note - with crown and pavilion angles at the shallower ends ( CA 34- PA 40.6) and steeper ( CA 35- PA 41) check to make sure these angles complement in that particular diamond - eyeballs, Idealscope, trusted vendor input - check as appropriate!

I am open to that suggestion. I am not looking for a stone that large, but it just happen to come my way....now I see why. I am interested in a well cut stone, but would like a modest size diamond (the biggest my $ can buy) with good color. SI1 or SI2 eye clean between 6000-7500.

Actually you can clear up a great deal of confusion by spending some time in the PS Knowledge section. There is a WEALTH of information that will bring you up to speed in a relatively short amount of time.
Garanteed to save you time and money !!!
