When in doubt go with the larger! Too loose is definitely the lesser of the two evils when you consider it in the context of OMG-HE-PROPOSED-LOOK-AT-MY-RING!!!!!
Agreed, and may be the way i need to go. Its just a pain in the butt if it isn't the right size having to get it resized (considering I'm in Aus and ordering the ring from JA in the US)
Go into ANY Aussie jewellery shop and get them to work out what size you currently are ask them when you are in there how many mms that the circumference is and write it down. Then use a conversion chart like this one to work out what size is the right one.
its for my partner, and I'm trying to keep it on the down low. So this ring is the best I can do to get the sizing right. I'll run it into jewellers tonight and see if they can help. Thanks.
Do you have access to any other rings that they wear? That way you could get a jeweller to put it on a mandrel for you and measure it to see if its an Aussie "N 1/2' an "O" or an "O 1/2" and then you can work with the conversion chart from there. Usually mandrels also have US and UK sizes on them you just have to ask what the US equivalent is.
thanks for the help guys, took it into the local jewellers and they were able to use the mandrel thing to tell me its a size O - which converts to a size 7.25 in the US.
Found it strange that the rep I was chatting to from JA told me that O was a size 7, All the charts that I could find differed slightly but they all said it was a 7.25...
