Hi All

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm seriously considering buying the following round brilliant diamond with the following specs (1.26ct, G, SI2, Excellent Cut)

GIA report = http://www.gia.edu/otmm_wcs_int/pro...rtCheckPOC/pocservlet?ReportNumber=1169106327.

I've been told its 100% eye clean and has characteristics of H&A and the price is reasonable. The only problem is it scores a 3.8 on HCA.

Can someone more knowledgeable then me (everybody!) please provide some feedback on this stone?

I'm keen to buy a stone urgently and am a bit overwhelmed with everything.

Thanks

It scores poorly because the crown angle is steep. Get an IS image, I'll bet it'll show light leakage.

It looks better than HCA predicts.

Can you see it in person? Or, if you can't, can you return it if you don't care for it?

I would look a bit further...look at stones from Infinity, Whiteflash, GoodOldGold, Brian Gavin Diamonds, this will give you a good idea of what you should be looking for, the cut of a diamond is the most important thing.

The only way I would consider the diamond you posted is to see it in person. The cut is not the best, numbers are rounded, picture image is not bad, but must be seen in person.

Yep. I really don't see any leakage from the magnified pic. The crown is a bit steep for the pavilion angle, but it's not a big deal. Still will be a beautiful stone.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I can't see the original diamond prior to buying but they offer 100% refund if not satisfied.

How does my original diamond compare with this other one that I have reserved from whiteflash http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2949575.htm

The white flash one is about $2k more expensive then my original one but still within budget. Do you think there would be a tangible difference between the two diamonds?

Thanks

The ACA will be prettier but only you can determine if it's worth it.

Hi all,

Thanks all your help so far. I went back to my wholesaler and asked for a stone with same specs but with better HCA score (now 0.8 ).

Can I please get your opinion on the pictures below, I am tossing up between the ACA stone or the one below (ACA is $2K more expensive and is 1.27ct vs 1.2ct, other than that the specs are the same).

I will make my purchase today so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is this new one eye-clean to your satisfaction? The angles on it are nice but it is no H&A like the ACA. Just depends whether
you require an H&A stone.

Both places have claimed the diamonds are eye clean SI1s and both have 30day satisfaction periods

I don't really mine if its true hearts and arrows or not to be honest, I just care about how well they perform. I have been scouring the threads on pricescope on whether Hearts and Arrows even make a difference on performance I now realise that the general consensus is they don't ...

Haha this is pretty stressful, might need to just toss a coin

This one might be nice.
