Hi all

I have been offered a 0.70 RB stone which is F, Si1, GIA triple excellent. I'll be going in store to view in person later on.

Just wanted to get people's opinion on the proportions as they appear on paper.

PROPORTIONS

Depth 61.1 %
Table 56 %
Crown Angle 33.5°
Crown Height 14.5%
Pavilion Angle 40.8°
Pavilion Depth 43.0%
Star Length 50%
Lower Half 75%
Girdle Medium, Faceted, 3.5%
Culet None

Thanks

M

The stone has overall good proportions, but the crown angle is a bit lower than what we usually like to see which is between 34-35. The stone that you will be viewing will produce white sparkle, but will lack fire (colored flashes) and we usually like our diamonds to produce fire. Another thing to note is that the stone is SI1, so it needs to be inspected for eye-cleanness.

What is your budget for the diamond and are you open to shopping online?

Thanks, my budget is flexible but I won't be buying online.

Also am I right in saying the slightly shallower angle doesn't mean there will be no fire but that it will have a reduced effect than if it were around 34-35?

Reduced, yes. What is the asking price of this diamond?
