Hey all - I bought this Scott Kay .32 platinum band on ebay for a really good price - I was just wondering what you all think about it paired with my ering. It's a little loose right now, I need to size it down one size. It's giving me the added sparkle I was looking for but I would like opinions about it overpowering my OEC/not going well with it. Thanks!

Great find! I think it looks fantastic! Its the perfect amount of sparkle to add to your amazingly beautiful solitaire! I don't think that it overpowers it all. Gorgeous!!

I think it looks perfect with your ring!!

it doesn't overwhelm in my opinion!

Junebug, I think it looks lovely with your ER! Just the right amount of sparkly bling IMO! Do you have any closeup pictures?

I think it is beautiful! Your ering definitely stands out and the band is a nice compliment to it! Congrats to you. :appl:

Perfect proportion. The eternity band complements and enhances in a positive way. Thumbs up!

Just double check to make sure that the diamonds from the eternity band do not touch the metal prongs of your ER. Sometimes one band "jumps up" a bit during wear. If there is a concern with possible damage, just add a thin spacer band.

It looks amazing! Just enough sparkle without overpowering your gorgeous OEC! Nice find! :appl:

Got my vote!! It's a keeper!! I think it works very well with your ering - it compliments but does not overwhelm. Great diamond proportions --- good find Junebug!

Your rings compliment each other well. The proportions are very pleasing...... what a great find!

Thank you for your input Christina, Upgradable, motownmama, missy, vickygigi, yennyfire, Enerchi, and Classyrocks! I'm glad to hear you all think it works because it fits the bill as to the look I wanted - a thin strand of sparkle with diamonds large enough that they could be seen from a distance. I was hoping it was classic enough to work with my older setting. I only wish it was just a little lower in height, but I think having it sized will help that a little.

Fancydiamond, I think you're right on the need for a spacer - I was hoping I wouldn't need one but after examining the 2 rings together, it looks like a small part of the diamonds are exposed, and they could rub against the setting. This setting has managed to stay around for probably about 80 years, I don't want to be the one to mess it up lol!

Thanks missy, I'm glad you think it looks ok - I do like the bit of sparkle it adds to my ering - here's a closer pic -

I think it is very complimentary to your ering - great find! I like your other band too but this one has lots of sparkle.

That was on my Watch list for fun.. it's fabulous!!!

Looks amazing together!

It's absolutely perfect with your e-ring! :appl:

Junebug-thanks for the closeup...it's gorgeous!!! A great match IMO. Really complementary to your ER! I love it!!

Thanks MissGotRocks, Mayk, Lorrissey, singer, and missy - I really appreciate your input!

It looks good!

Thanks lknvrb4!

I'm really glad everyone so far thinks the band works - I had been looking at vintage/antique rings and somehow came across this - was a little concerned it wasn't a vintage style - but thought it was simple enough to go with my ring.

Took it to the jeweler for resizing and he examined it and said everything checks out and the stones are in good shape.

Even if this didn't work with my ring, I think I would have kept it - I wasn't going to mention how much I paid, but I can't help it...$400! I'm excited I found a quality piece for such a low price.

Wow, excellent find especially for that price!! I love that the style of the band is classic enough to go with a variety of rings AND it's substantial enough to be worn alone.
PERFECT!!!!!! :appl:

PERFECT!!!!!! :appl:

I love a great deal!!! And it makes it that much sweeter!!! Well done Junebug!!!! :appl:

Thanks missy and Roxy! And I agree Roxy, this ring looks nice even worn alone - I'll probably wear it as a rhr once in a while. 3 point stones look bigger than I thought they would!

It's not vintage-y, but I actually think it looks really good with your fabulous e-ring!!

Thank you Laila! :)) Yeah, I was on the fence a little about this not being a vintage style ring but I kind of like the clean, simple look of this band and the extra bling it provides.

I think it looks great with your ering! Perfect combination if you ask me!

It looks so elegant with your beautiful engagement ring. Beautiful!

Lovely - it adds just the right amount of blingy detail, if you KWIM

How in the world did I miss this the last few days?
It's so pretty. I love it when someone scores from Ebay.
And you're right, they look bigger than three pointers.

Gorgeous June - it's perfect!!!

You know me, I'm normally a plain band-er, but this one just *fits so well* with your honker solitaire!! It's like MGR's threestone w/ her channel eternity, and yenny's old cut oval w/ her grandmother's band, and missy's new solitaire w/ Demelza's old band - some rings are just supposed to end up together!

I think it's because it's subtle - just adds a wee bit of sparkle - and because the depth off the finger seems to match the depth of your solitaire's shank, so they "match" that way even though they're different styles...

I guess I am the odd one out here and will give my honest opinion. I don't like it from the pics. The setting looks very modern to me (although I am not clear if there is vintagy engraving on the band). The stone is vintage and your band is very classic. It just looks a bit mish mash to me. Sorry but wanted to give you my honest opinion.

ETA: Regardless of my thoughts on the set together, I think each individual piece is gorgeous. I would keep the Scott Kay band for sure! It is stunning.
