We are in the process of purchasing my engagement ring and we may have found a contender. Originally, boyfriend began the process of purchasing a 1.6 S11 I Color Pear from Tiffany's. When we discussed about the plans, he mentioned the astronomical price :-o that they were charging him and I begged him not to continue! Fortunately, he listened. :)

So now we're back to square 1. After continuing our research, we may have found a contender from James Allen. Please give us your opinion on this or tell us if we need to continue searching for "the one".

Specs are as follows:

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/pear-shaped/1.80-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-sku-572481

SHAPE: Pear
CARAT WEIGHT: 1.80
COLOR: F
CLARITY: SI1
POLISH: Excellent
SYMMETRY: Excellent
FLUORESCENCE: Faint
L/W/D (MM): 10.45*6.75*4.25
L/W RATIO: 1.55
DEPTH %: 63.10
GIRDLE: Slightly Thick - Thick
TABLE %: 56.00
CULET: None
CERTIFICATE: GIA

For reference: We're looking for a 1.6-2.0 pear with H color and above , SI1 clairy and above, and minimal bow-tie for under $16,000. Eye-clean, good investment, and sparkle.

That stone looks gorgeous. My only concern is that you should definitely always try to view a diamond in person. I so recommend this because beautiful and amazing specs on paper sometimes in person it's not everything you want it to be. If possible make an appointment with a local dealer who can take the stone on memo so that you can see it.

Lots of Luck

Pretty but the leakage under the table may be too much. Wouldn't buy without an ASET.

There's no reason to call anything in on memo!

LOL!

JA has a great 30 return policy and pays shipping both ways. Instead of being stuck in a store examining the stone under jewelers lights and their eyes. You can get the stone yourself and live with it for a couple of weeks and see what you think of it. You'll be able to see it in all light and really get a feel for it's personality.

It's a far better way to go!

But I would want an ASET.

Here are a couple alternative stones for your consideration.
