Hello! I am starting to look at wedding bands and was hoping to get your opinions on this (type of) engraved band: http://weddingringhotline.com/rings/hand-engraved_wedding_bands-b&n/index.htm

Does anyone have these kinds of bands? Will such a band look good with my Ritani engagement ring (here is my SMTB post https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ritani-engagement-ring-is-here.196552/ ) or am I better off with a plain milgrained band like this: https://store.weddingringhotline.com/product.php?xProd=653&xSec=35

I don't want any diamonds in my band as I feel there's a lot of bling going on already, and also don't want the boy to spend too much! Would like just a plain platinum with some slight embellishments (like the above links)... Thoughts? :twirl:

I think that something with engraving will look nice with your engagement ring. Also I would get 2mm because anything
thicker will take away from your beautiful ring imho. Maybe a band with some bezeled diamonds in it would look nice too.
I have the romantique band from Ritani and I  it! Congratulations and have fun trying on different wedding bands to see
what you like best! :wavey:

Yup I agre with the previous poster that a thinner engraved band would look beautiful with your halo. I think something around the 1.8-2mm would look fantastic. I'm a big fan of not matching sets so I say go for it :appl:

Thank you for your suggestions.. Yes I was thinking no more than 2mm as well... I need to find a local store that has some kind of engraved bands for me to play with :appl:

ETA: does anyone know other places to look for such bands? I saw some on Aurell, I'm not familiar with this site...any ideas?

To be honest though I don't love the idea of an engraved band with your Ering. The pave shank, the scalloped halo... There's already a LOT going on, and an engraved band is yet more intricate detail... and since your Ering doesn't feauture any engraving (I don't think?) there isn't really anything to tie them together... I honestly think a plain band would be the most flattering complement.

Just my 2c.

Victor Canera's engraver does the best engraving I have ever seen. Might not be as cheap as WRH but the quality is IMO unsurpassed!

Here's LittleSparkle's band: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/new-victor-canera-1-8mm-platinum-engraved-wedding-band.167540/

After seeing hers I *had* to have one of my own!

Thanks Yssie, I found that thread last night and ogled the band for a long long time! It's absolutely gorgeous... I'm almost afraid to ask how much it would cost to make haha! Would you be willing to share an approx. price range for your band (only if you don't mind!)

And yes I agree there's quite a bit going on with my engagement ring (no there's no engraving on it at the moment) and that's sort of why I'm confused about the band. I guess my reasoning was that I'd like to wear just the band sometimes without the ring, and would like a little extra something for those times... I guess the solution is to just get both a plain band and an engraved band, that should solve all my confusion :Up_to_something: :Up_to_something:

I asked for a price quote for that band a while ago. June 2012. It was $1550. Definitely worth it in my opinion. I wish I'd bought it!

Thanks so much Maisie, that's useful info. Unfortunately It's not going to work for our budget..it's really too bad coz I absolutely love it! ... I'm just going to have to save up for it and get it later I guess!

What do you guys think of something like these I found on etsy?
http://www.etsy.com/listing/102717067/platinum-art-deco-style-engraved-wedding?ref=shop_home_active_7&ga_search_query=Platinum

http://www.etsy.com/listing/165083373/vintage-style-thin-delicate-950-platinum?ref=shop_home_active_14&ga_search_query=Platinum ( but not curved)...

The problem with WRH is their engraved bands are considered custom and so cannot be returned..so I can't even just order it and play around for a few days too see if I like the look...

Here is my Tacori wedding band!

Very nice :appl:

I think a domed band with milgrain edging - but no additional engraving - would look nice with your e-ring.

Gemgirl bought this band from Aurell

Yes, I did come across the Aurell site and this thread too https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/aurell-hand-engraved-wedding-band.164808/ ,and had asked about it earlier in this thread, since I'm not familiar with it. Some of their rings look awesome...I'd have to contact them for a quote for a 2mm band... I only see 3mm and higher.

Thanks for your input ! I think I'm going to try to find or order both kinds and give them a shot to see what works best

Thanks! I believe it's around 2 mm. It was custom made by Tacori to match my engagement ring (I didn't like the band that came with it, it kind of attached into the ring, which I didn't want). It doesn't seem to be on the Tacori website anymore but I'm pretty sure you can contact them (through an authorized retailer) for pricing. Here is a link to my e-ring so you have an idea!

I hope you find something that you really love!!

Thanks Maisie and momma! I have a lot more to work with now, I'm going to get cracking! I'll come back and post pics/get opinions once I get a chance to try both kinds of bands... :appl: :wavey:

Also, does it make sense to buy the wedding band slightly bigger than the engagement ring, to be more comfortable/prevent my finger from turning into a sausage?! How big is appropriate? Half size more? My ering is a size 5

Aurell won't engrave 2mm bands, require minimum 3mm which won't work with my ring. Makes me sad ;( :(sad

Update: WRH offered to send me a sample 2mm engraved ring in 14k WG. I took a few pictures with the sample engraved band, with a "plain band" (twisted an old ring around, lol) and a layered look with both the sample and the "plain band". I'd love some opinions please?

No thoughts? I'll go first... I am not sure the engraved band works with my ering...a diamond band would probably be the best, but I think I'm going to have to go with the plain band option... what do you guys feel? Please feel free to be honest! I'd appreciate any help! :wavey:

I don't care for the engraved band w/it. I like the plain band. It's there, you can see it, but it blends well w/your ering and lets it be in the limelight.

I agree. Plain band.

Thank you packrat and Huldak! Do you think a plain band with milgrained edges would work? Or is a completely plain band the best route?

I prefer the plain band.

I would go no milgrain, and no wider than the band of your e-ring.

Plain - I'd match the width to the diameter of the stones in your e-ring. (because I like balance and I think the wedding ring deserves to make a statement equal to that of the engagement ring, even if the engagement ring will always steal the show!)
