Hi!!
I was hoping that I could in list some of your help on an emerald cut. My boyfriend is working with GOG and they pulled some diamonds for us to take a look at. Currently we have narrowed it down to the First one in the video and I am attaching the pictures as well as the ASET and XRay pics. GOG is also pulling a few more for us as well. Any thoughts or opinions on the first one in the video would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and help. I hope I am attaching everything correctly...

Hi Vogue,

Can you post the Sarin or Helium scan too please so we can get the crown height percentage?

I don''t know anything technical about ECs, but I do really like the appearance of that one.

What is Jon''s take on its optics?

thank you all for your help so far! I really appreciate it. We are emailing GOG for the Sarin to get the crown height and as soon as we hear back I will post it. Thanks again.

wow that is a beauty! I wish i could help you, but I am a novice myself

Since they are closed today, I will post the info tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, but thank you all for your help so far.

Looks promising. Can''t wait for the additional information.

How are you planning on setting it, btw?

I am almost positive we will set it in the Tacori 2620 with plain shoulders. I have loved this setting for years and the only reason we would go with another setting is if we wanted to get a cheaper setting and put more money in to the diamond but I think I will think about the setting and miss it if we didnt go for it. What I love about it is the side profile and haven''t been able to find anything else that comes close to it. The halo I wasn''t sure about at first, since initially I loved the more basic solitare look but with something special from the side view, however when I tried it on the halo is so small in real life that I didn''t mind it at all.

If anyone has any other thoughts on settings with a more solitare look (not a lot of pave work on the band of the setting) but with a special side view, I would love to see them as well...

Thoughts?

I am still waiting to hear from my bf about the crown height...

I received the Sarin report and the crown height is listed at 11% (.57mm). Let me know if there is any additional information that I should post.

Thank you all again for all of your help and input.

here is the link for the 1.02 but it looks like it is now on hold for a customer (we only have the 1.14 on hold since I wasn''t loving the l:w ratio as much as the first one)

ah ok
the 1.02 and the 1.14 are my favorites in the video.
The only thing "I" don''t like is the corners and windmills on the 1.14.
That is somewhat personal preference however.

Thank you so much Karl for your input. I have been hoping you would check this thread and comment. The crown height looks ok though right? Just want to make sure...

Thank you for your reply! I haven''t spoken to Jon at all as my bf has been the one communicating with them but from the video as well as the info that was told to me was that both Jon and Sarah liked it the best out of the 4 they brought in and really liked it. I can ask for my detailed info too

Sorry for the threadjack, but Karl are you now allowed to comment on other vendors stones? It is so helpful when you do, so I hope it is the case!

No need to say sorry, I hope this is the case too. I have been reading his posts for years now and couldn''t wait for a comment on my post from Karl!! Karl, your input is SO helpful and appreciated. Thank you for all you do on this site.

Thank you to everyone else for all of your help and responses as well. I would not have felt comfortable in our decision unless I heard from you all first, as I am no expert, so THANK YOU again!

Looks great! Good luck on your emerald hunt. I just recieved my ec today from union diamond and it looks awesome. 1.07 E vvs1 ideal cut.

within reason
I can comment on technical issues on most diamonds.
On asschers and emeralds I have a little leeway because there isn't a lot of info out there or many people qualified to help at a high level.
I prefer to let consumers handle it and only post as needed but I do review the threads.

Yes he can!

Karl also keeps an eye on these threads and should there be bad info from me or anyone else, he is allowed to address it also.
