Hey guys, I don''t know too much about diamonds, but I''ve been looking around for a while and been doing research for an engagement ring. I just made this purchase and have it mounted on a 6 prong platinum setting. The diamond to me really sparkles and seems very clean, and better than most of the GIA/EGL that I saw in its class. Also the price seemed nice. What do you guys think?

Certificate: IGI

Natural Diamond
Round Brilliant

Carat: 1.00
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Medium to Sl. Thick (Fac.)
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: None
Table: 54.0%
Measurements: 6.40*6.43*3.94 mm
Crown Height / Angle: 15.5% / 34.0°
Pavilion Depth / Angle: 42.5% / 40.3°

Pavilion is shallow - obstruction issues.

I hope it isn''t too shallow. I also ran it through the HCA and it came back a .8 TIC.

Check for it. Some may be a problem or you may not be bothered by it.

SC is right, check by bending over the diamond to view it closely to see if it visibly darkens, if it does and it doesn't bother you then thats the main thing. See the video titled Head Obstruction by Garry Holloway to see what to look for.

As it is IGI graded I would make the sale final on the diamond checking out with an independant appraisal.
