I am working with David Klass and I got my first CADs today. He said “I am going to be having a vintage ring specialist carve all the milgrain and placing the stones. The ring looks very bare now and with a lot of metal showing. Do you like the overall structure?”

I’ve never done this before, so I don’t know what I don’t know. I do want the ring to be almost flush to my finger for ease of wear. But I don’t want the sides to be solid/boring. Other than that, I have no clue what I am really looking at. If anything jumps out at you, please let me know. I am going with plant I’m in because the price difference is pretty negligible.

How close are you wanting it to be to your inspiration ring?
It is very pretty, but if you are looking to replicate the scale of ring to centerstone I think it’s off a bit.

I don’t need an exact replica. But I do like those proportions. I was thinking that maybe the center needs to be a little taller? And keep the width the same. I think it’s 7x5 now. Maybe it needs to 10x5 or 6?

This will give you an idea of proportions.

So you don’t already have the centerstone?

I don’t. It is being sourced as well.
That is a helpful visual!

Agree with scale issue. I Personally did not like the curly q detail around the outside. Since the top is more geometric I would go in a more geometric Art Deco direction...

I agree with this. I am leaning toward having it lower to the finger. So that would lend itself to having a more geometric side profile.
