I am looking at a diamond to purchase, and would like an opinion on it . . .

Shape: round
Measurements: 6.34 - 6.40 x 3.97 mm
Cut: AGS ideal 0
Light Performance: 0
Proportion Factors: 0
Finish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Color: 0 (D)
Clarity: 4 (VS2)
Carat: 1.0002
Table: 55.4%
Crown height: 15.7%
Crown angle: 34.8 degrees
Girdle thickness: 1.7% to 4.3% faceted
Pavilion depth: 43%
Pavilion angle: 40.7 degrees
Cutlet: pointed
Depth: 62.3%
Fluorescence: negligible

Also, the diamond drawing on the AGS cert has the number 51 right under the table, and the number 74 on the pavilion . . . what do those mean? I have been looking at diamonds for a bit now, and most places say . . . the diamond is great, will be breathtaking, etc. . . . but let’s be real . . . they just want to sell me something :).

The cut parameters look fine for this stone, but the depth is a *tad* deep. The stone is facing up about .1mm smaller than a diamond should of this carat weight, but this isn''t a huge difference. An image and an IS image would be helpful to fully evaluate the stone. Can the vendor provide these for you?

Hi Topher,

Can I just ask first, are you dead set on this high of color and clarity?

Also, to answer your question on those numbers, they are for the star, and lower girdle facets. If you have not heard of those, do a search on here for more explantion.

The GOG ones look nice. VVS is way overkill, so x those.

Do you think that the high color and clarity will get you the "wow" factor?

LOL . . . well, I have seen other less quality stones . . . and they have no wow factor . . . and the ones I have seen with these specs have more of a wow factor :) . . . but I am on expert . . .

So the original AGS D didn't wow you? What does it lack that you want more of?

A well cut, large diamond is the best way to take someone's breath away.
