Hello, I've recently purchased some diamonds for an engagement ring and was hoping to get some opinions on what some of you think would be the better diamond. Here are the certificates for each, I've already purchased them and I'm just waiting for arrival to compare both IRL before making a decision on which to return.

It's hard to tell from just the reports. Do you have the links to the diamonds on Ritani?

Yes, I've edited the post to include the links on Ritani!

This might be the first GCAL 8x I've seen on Ritani. They're both beautiful, but I like the 2.33 better due to being HPHT.

First one I found as well! From my research I noticed some concerns with CVD and potentially being hazy after additional treatment, is that the main reason you would select the HPHT over the CVD here or is there something else I'm missing?

Yes, CVD can have striations, haziness, brown or grey tint, or birefringence. Not saying that the GCAL 8x has any of that, but HPHT has fewer issues to watch out for.
